New feature on Ten News Queensland, Matt Ballan joining Jono at the desk to do some analysis after the footy package. Segment called ‘Footy Focus’.
Full chat will be on TenDaily, looks like a studio interview integrated into the bulletin.

Interesting they’ve replaced the ‘First at 5’ strap with ‘tendaily.com.au’, doesn’t that suggest that tendaily is ten’s official online news source? If so, the tendaily and eyewitness branding do not work well together, surely we will see an on-air refresh?

TVQ still had teneyewitnessnews.com.au on their ending strap, which redirects to tenplay, not tendaily…

Yes it would seem they’ll need to unify the news brand with ten daily. Perhaps that’s in the works with new head of news only starting last week.

Somehow I’m going to guess that the following items would be on the “Media Spy wishlist” (but of course whether or not everything on it happens is another story) for Ten Eyewitness News: First at Five before the end of this year…
*New graphics.
*Possibly a new version of the theme music.
*New Sydney/national news set.
*HD production of bulletins in all markets - with the way things are going at the moment, the ABC very well might beat them in that regard!
…and maybe sometime over the next 12-18 months:
*Hiring of additional presenters/reporters, including the luring over of faces currently on other networks.
*Additional news bulletins.
*Possibly the revival of Sports Tonight and/or a breakfast program.

Would make sense… Matt White as head of sport would probably want to do something. It also slowly re-establishes the sports brand until there are some actually sports rights they can get.
