This is far different to sitting in front of a green screen with 1 static shot.
Brisbane may get their current set?
Recycling sets isnât new within networks, Nine did it w/ Sydney & Melbourne sets going to Newcastle & Darwin years ago
If anything, Perth/Adelaide will get the set.
Key word if. That set has to make it out of 10âs como building without falling to dust from age first.
No thanks - Perth is currently way ahead of Melbourne set wise and Adelaide does pretty well with its current green screen.
The old Brisbane set was disposed of wasnât it? Was it because the studio space was needed for something else?
Odd that theyâd be so ready to dispose of the Brisbane set at a place like Mt Coot-tha, but the Perth set remained in place and unused for 2.5 years at Subiaco.
IIRC one of the big two screens ended up being moved to the newsroom for live crosses
If anything, Perth/Adelaide will get the set.
They would have to be fools to replace Perthâs current set with thatâŚ
And unless Adelaide moves into a bigger building, which i cant see happening ATM, i doubt they would get that set.

Makes more sense to give it to Queensland given itâs a bigger market, Perth already has a set in a similar configuration and the DIY set looks dreadful.
They should really just give Adelaide QLDâs current set.
Brisbane may get their current set?
Itâll fall apart when they ship it.
AFAIK the Brisbane set is still there in the old studio still.
Didnât Kay McGrath take photos on it early last year?

The sets lifespan is done. Its not going anywhere.

Qld needs its current set for doing the news? How about just give Adelaide a basic set of its own.
I meant if Melbourne shipped their old set to QLD.
all this musical chairs seems very silly to just shunt around outdated tech and scrappy old set pieces.
Perths set is great very modern sure some tweaks with screens but otherwise it shall last a few more years.
Believe the old Qld set is gone, nothing left.
Which explains the fairly hastily put together set they have now.

+1. If the Melbourne set is as decrepit as everyone makes out, why would you bother shipping it and reinstalling it elsewhere. Who wants scrappy old cast offs already past their use-by?
Given Adelaide is already using virtual reality, couldnât they upgrade the virtual set they are using to match Melbourneâs new set? Could they introduce the same âsetâ in Brisbane as well?
Given Adelaide is already using virtual reality
theyâre not, they just use a green screen.
