At least you guys have a set - us in Adelaide are still waiting for one.
100%
Queenslandâs watermark returned during the last ad of the first break, almost appeared that they crashed back in slightly.
Donât love the backdrop for this tight shot.
Wouldnât mind if the dot in the live bug was red.
Yeah it looks crap. I mean the set overall with the new package looks better, but it still looks like a broom cupboard setup that is very dated. The whole 3 screen setup is 12 years old!
Is it just me or does Jen sound like she has a swollen mouth? She doesnât usually sound like that.
Any hint as to whether Queensland is still partially pre-recorded? Or are they fully live now?
Will find out after this ad break
You will be happy to know that Tiff said â10 Newsâ during the latest update.
Loving the new supers
Is that the old Queensland desk? Or am I getting confused?
Pretty sure its almost 12 years old, the Eyewitness news era aired 12 years ago (2013). Iâm surprised the big plasmas still work.
Iâm joking, nothing has changed.
Queensland and Melbourne both had replica desks at one point.
The screens are older yes, but the set itself was November 2014 when Candice started anchoring.
Itâs 11 years - during the first year they just put (IIRC) the existing Melbourne desk in front of the three plasmas with wooden framing.
The when they added Candice to the bulletin, they got the new set and moved the bulletin to the old Adelaide studio.
Is QLD getting a live final half hour or still pre record.
And perhaps 10 Adelaide should use that newsroom backdrop instead of the green screen.
Fairly sure still pre-recorded in Qld.
Surely that sits with the Melbourne news director?
Yes, funds need to be allocated from a network / national budget by folks in Pyrmont. But in 12 years a fund it gats to think a news director in the largest tv market in the country could not have made the strong case for budget for set upgrade. I doubt itâs been 12 years of no.
Feels like the local Melbourne news director has not cared much or mounted a good case for it.
Damm it - was hoping for a second that Adelaide couldâve gotten the old Melbourne desk
Fair - that would make sense given IIRC they got it a few months after each other
I still wouldnât call it a new set, all they did was swap the wooden frames to silver. The 3 screen setup just was wheeled over and a few extra panels plonked on the side.
