With The Sunday Project also getting the flick, would 10 revert it’s Sunday News back to 90 minutes? Like they do on Saturday nights?
Weekdays though, should remain as one-hour news bulletins.

Perhaps. Still leaves a 30min hole at 6:30pm before prime time lineup starts.
No. Why would I watch an American current affairs show?
Let’s be honest, JBar, you aren’t going to give anything they put there a chance, are you?
That’s an odd comment to make.
It has to be something worth watching. I certainly won’t be watching it if it’s a going to have American current affairs content in a prime time evening slot.
Not an odd comment at all.
We all know you are The Projects biggest defender and naturally would be unhappy about its axing and also what ever replaces it.
Just asking a question if you’re willing to give them a chance.
I don’t think anyone was suggesting an American current affairs show? Just the name / format they could possibly use, if they were to produce a similar version locally.
There was a rumour that they would be using repackaged CBS content in the new current affairs show, but I’m not sure where that came from.
I’m not going to dismiss any replacement show just because I like The Project.
I’m saying that from what we’ve heard so far, it’s not a show I would want to watch.
We haven’t heard a single thing about it?
Well, we’re speculating based on the leaks and rumours weve heard so far.
The only thing we’ve heard is they’ve hired three journalists to help build an investigation department. We don’t even know if this is the same thing as the alleged The Project replacement.
We don’t know anything really so to say you don’t think it’s something you’ll watch based on what we’ve heard so far is naturally confusing as we haven’t heard anything about the show or its content at all.
Well, in that case we probably shouldn’t even speculate on The Project ending because we know nothing officially.
I think it’s very clear now that it’s ending though.
You like to have it both ways.
No, not at all. You just seem to be in a habit lately of making comments without backing anything up.
You still haven’t been able to tell me what about this new show you don’t think you’ll like.
I said it was based on what we’ve seen reported and leaked.
It has been speculated that there will be a new current affairs program four nights a week, Monday to Thursday. It has been speculated the journalists hired by 10 will be involved in this show. It has been speculated that they will model the show on CBS’s Inside Edition and may even use content from that Anerican show.
My comments were in response to that speculation.
I don’t really want to keep arguing, however, no one has said anything about the three new journalists being connected to this particular program, just that they’ve been hired to build a new investigative unit.
Secondly, the Inside Edition chat seems to have just come from here, again, based on nothing substantial yet.
Anyways we have gone a little off topic now I think.
I was told that staff were informed today.
For the record, The Australian was reporting a few weeks ago that Ten was looking at launching a new hard hitting “news magazine show”, something between 7.30 and The Project - maybe this new show could be that.
But obviously it’s all speculation at this point
