Haven’t heard of or seen it. Sounds interesting.
Always good to be positive!

Wasn’t sure the best place to share this, but 60th anniversary promo has been shared to 10 play:

So they’re treating this 60th year anniversary as a “national” event despite it only being for Melbourne?
Could explain why Sandra was flown to Melbourne.
Actually, if you look at all the television stations under the Ten brand (Ten owned and affiliates), many have been around 60 years or more. These include RTN-8 Lismore (under WIN ownership-part of the former 11-8 network with NRN11 - NRN11 initially as NRN10 in 1965), CTC-7 Canberra and TNQ-7 Townsville as well as GLV-10 Traralgon and BCV-8 Bendigo, all having celebrated 60 years prior to this year.
They did similar for the 50th, as ATV0 Melbourne was essentially the start of the network.
Those stations are not owned by Ten, they are not Ten per say. They just broadcast Ten content under affiliation agreements.
From what I can gather, Ten (as 10 or 0) in any form commenced 1 August 1964 in Melbourne, so therefore the anniversary really is 60 years of the Ten organisation which has since grown into a five station network.
Great video and great promo - hopefully it makes it onto broadcast.
Could do a Melbourne version with Jen replacing Sandra, archive footage of Mal.
Probably not a lot of point for the other states.
The Ten brand / Network officially commenced on August the 1st 1964 with the launch of ATV0 in Melbourne. All the stations you listed had nothing to do with 10 prior to this date.
Great to see 10 still acknowledging the networks history.
Okay so they’re clearly celebrating the birthday of Channel 10 as a whole not the birth in Melbourne (which is the same thing anyways) so all those who were upset about Sandra and Ang hosting can calm down
Great promo. It would’ve been great for them to do an event retrospective.
Who remembers those 40 year specials that they shoved on satruday afternoon at 4pm. One for Melbourne and then the year after in Sydney.
An intimate event will also be held to mark the 60th today at 10’s Project studio in South Yarra. Or studio Bert as they call it.
Thanks for posting - those interviews are a great read.
As posted to socials:
I don’t know if this is Mediaweek’s own words or if they’re just quoting Ten publicity, but it’s not correct.
This Is It actor and co-host Brian James said the first televised words on Channel 0, the real start to Channel 10, was a test broadcast: “This is ATV Channel O, we are broadcasting a picture and sound so you may adjust your television receiver for this new channel in the Melbourne area. If you are not receiving a clear picture, we suggest you call your service man

They’ll kill this show off my bouncing it around the schedule like that and airing it in constant repeat mode, it’s already declined so much since it first started - it’s no wonder they have to promote episodes with huge new text on promos or list them as ‘NEW’ in the EPG.
Has Ten released an updated daytime schedule starting Monday 12 August yet?
Looks like Drew Barrymore is moving to 9am from Monday 12 August.
Also, way too much Deal or No Deal from this date.
7am, 12:30pm and 6pm daily.
Not to mention all the repeats on 10Bold (8:30 and 9am) and 10Peach (10:30)
