Ten Network - Programs and Schedules

One of their biggest issues tbh, tunnel vision when it comes to promoting series and only able to promote one show at a time.

Could also be airing promos for the new early evening line up, new news bulletins etc

I reckon we may see the first promo for the next season of Australian Survivor next week, during the final week of The Bachelors.

And a strange promo at that.
Strong, fierce, hero like gladiators with the tune “Let Me Entertain You” playing? Does anyone else think this is a strange mis-match? Not sure the messaging here… :man_shrugging:

From tonight

Episode 1 and 2 : Sunday 11:35pm
Episode 3: Monday 11:30pm
Episode 4 Tuesday 11:10 pm
Episode 5: Wednesday midnight
Episode 6: Thursday 11:30 pm

(Pushes The Project encores out of the schedule).

The True Stories Of The Women Behind The Movement

The anthology series that chronicles the civil rights movement as told by the women behind it, Women Of The Movement , will stream exclusively on Paramount+ from Tuesday, 15 February,

The premiere six-part installment is the true story of Mamie Till-Mobley, who in 1955 risked her life to find justice after her son Emmett was brutally murdered in the Jim Crow South. Unwilling to let Emmett’s murder disappear from the headlines, Mamie chose to bear her pain on the world’s stage, emerging as an activist for justice and igniting the civil rights movement as we know it today.

The limited series stars Adrienne Warren as Mamie Till-Mobley, Tonya Pinkins as Alma, Cedric Joe as Emmett Till, Ray Fisher as Gene Mobley, Glynn Turman as Mose Wright, Chris Coy as J.W. Milam, Carter Jenkins as Roy Bryant and Julia McDermott as Carolyn Bryant.

Women of the Movement is produced by Kapital Entertainment and created by Marissa Jo Cerar, who also serves as executive producer and showrunner. Reverend Wheeler Parker Jr., Dr. Marvel Parker, Ms. Ollie Gordon and Christopher Benson serve as consultants for the series. Executive producers are Aaron Kaplan, Dana Honor and Michael Lohmann for Kapital Entertainment; Shawn Carter, Jay Brown and Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith for Roc Nation; Will Smith and James Lassiter for Westbrook; Rosanna Grace for Serendipity Group Inc.; Alex Foster and John Powers Middleton for Middleton Media Group; David Clark for Mazo Partners; and Gina Prince-Bythewood.

Interesting scheduling there, I thought The Project rpt usually did fairly well at that time. Wonder what the strategy is here

Jamie’s 5 Ingredient Mediterranean will next air on Saturday December 30 at 10am with episode 3. At 3pm that day is the season finale of Cooking for Less.

And episode 4 will air the next day so its wrapped before the end of the year.

I may be way off but I wonder if they’re contracted to play it over the air by the end of the year and someone has just realised.

There occasionally seems to be a bit of that - also the old squeezing in of kiwi dramas. for quota points as well late in the year

@aarontvcentral would probably know more than I if that is possible.

You are spot in with the drama points shows such as My Life is Murder, etc

The squeezing in shows is, not always, but usually about finances. Whether it is a monthly budget or end of year budget thing, it can be different.

It is like when Charmed was on Friday nights 10.30pm and then just disappeared and returned to the same slot a couple of months later - was a budget thing - not ratings.

Some shows might be expiring - such as Good Sam but cannot confirm that title.

Some have to do with second window titles - A Million Little Things has a different window with Disney and Stan.

It won’t usually be a contract though unless coincidentally the contract ends 31 December.

It is all about money money money 90% of the time.

Good explanation - thanks.
It does seem that a Project rerun would be cheaper than an overseas title but maybe there are other staff costs to edit the Project for rebroadcast that Ten is saving on.

Given it’s a Paramount show, could they be trying to hit some kind of ‘internal’ quota?

The Project decision to stay on as ‘Best Of’ is just to not dilute the brand. Better to keep on for familiarity and people always know its there, than take off completely and ‘relaunch’ it. That is the thinking anyway.

Everything is about cost per hour. We often make fun of 10’s woes on Saturday night but their cost per hour against NRL and AFL is pretty much nothing. I am not suggesting the overall strategy is good but on a cost per hour basis, 10 do well in that regard - rather than launch a new Saturday night show at a cost of 500k per hour and then lose to 7 and 9 anyway.

This is my thinking, either that or the window to utilise any FTA component of the rights is about to expire.

Still can’t quite understand why they’d preempt Project repeats for it thought, when it usually airs without fail year round.

If this week is a “best of” then not having a late-night repeat makes some sense - but this feels like burning off content to meet some sort of requirement (Ten knows it won’t rate, but needs to find some way to get it to air)

Season final is next Friday, tonight is the last Sunday edition however. Could understand if they aired this next week in lieu of a repeat of the best of ep, that would make sense.

Is this week the beginning of 1hr 10 News? I notice Bondi Rescue in the 6pm slot.

Or does it go back to 90 the following week?

@aarontvcentral do you know what’s happening here? Thanks!

10 will again broadcast the King’s Christmas Message well ahead of Nine. This time however, 10 will show the Message at the same time as the ABC.

Seems like it is. Is it meant to be a national bulletin all week?

So Bondi Rescue until Deal is ready? That probably makes sense.

This means this coming Friday is the last 90 minutes news.

Bondi Rescue 6pm Sundays too?
