At risk of continuing to derail this thread: criticising a supposed ‘writer’ for their use of AI tools is 100% justifiable, in any sense of the word.

This is due to now airing nearly an hour earlier, so it should be expected to be higher, but still relies on lead in for its stronger nights

A counter to that is that a one hour late news could expect to average lower, though have a higher reach.

Jimmy Kimmel Live will have been a ready replacement for Stephen Colbert on 10. According to Google search, it is streaming on Disney+.

No it’s not.. Jimmy Kimmel is not and never has been on Disney+.
Then 10 is in with a chance if it is keen. There are hundreds of classic episodes of Jimmy Kimmel it can fill the late night schedule.

Under this scenario, show the new episodes when they are available, but when the show is on a break, then air the classic episodes.
The question would be, in the hypothetical scenario, would they have the rights to the back catalogue of episodes?
I read that UKTV has secured the rights to classic episodes of Neighbours from 1985 and 1986. I know this is probably more relevant on the Neighbours thread, but given this article, airing classic episodes of Neighbours would be about as likely as the broadcasting of Jimmy Kimmel episodes
I mean I did suggest getting the rights to prisoner, 3 years of weekdays sorted at 11pm. I suggested a couple of shorter dramas to warm the slot up (secret life of us, offspring), then a potential long run of prisoner. Im not sure what 11pm rates, but its lead in is only 50-80k, so im guessing nothing magical anyway.
It would be interesting to know if they will have licence issues with some of the music. I mean the youtube uploads have replaced most of the music during the episodes (with some scences in the episodes having dialogue wiped completly).
If it contains the originality and end of episode credits, then I can see myself watching those episodes again and happy to pay for better quality without the ai trash affecting it.

Sorry not to keep the conversation going but I do need to make one correction. I was told TBBT was replacing Colbert so assumed it took that slot but actually it will air after the Late News and then 10 News + Encore will air after that.

Seems a bit of a death slot for News+, I’d still be scheduling it ahead of Big Bang. Why would anyone stick around for +. At least after the news, there may be some retention.

How long til it gets axed completely and 10 slot another Big Bang at 6pm weeknights?
I believe separate because the ones on 10 main channel will start from Season 1 Episode 1

If 10 see good younger demo ratings in the slot with TBBT it gives me hope that Big Brother Up Late will return once the season starts…
