Typical 10… flogging a dead horse. Why must they overcook stuff so then people will get bored of it and ultimately kill it.
How is it dead?
Are they trying to kill it off by saturation on our screens?
I have no idea of 10’s reasoning of this. But with so many repeats of Deal, is there really any reaaon to watch the new episode at 6pm?
And networks wonder why viewership is down (outside of news and sport). Repeats galore, and long drawn reality shows.
To be honest, id leave the morning repeat on 10, and perhaps the weekday morning repeat on 10Peach, and get rid of the rest.
Sounds like it isn’t working and they are desperate to give it all the exposure they can on their 10% channel. Looks desperate indeed.
I think it’s more that they don’t have anything else to fill other time slots
That is not true though, Dr Phil is just one example and only recently stopped running, it has a considerable back catalogue just like Judge Judy that could be exploited and would make for some more cash flow for CBS Global Distribution.
Not to mention they are dropping one of the two episodes of Entertainment Tonight they air daily
Is it the afternoon one?
Yes, the new airtime is 11:30am but with the 10:30am slot now looking like the primetime encore slot… the length of the show (or whether it airs at all) will depend on how long the preceding program is as it does now.
Surely they’re not going back to edited ET episodes after all the outrage earlier this year.
They need timeslots for Days and Y&R. To me, it’s looking like they will end up somewhere between 9am-12am
What do you mean back to? It’s currently edited down still now in the 1:00pm slot following Midday, is there another airing where it airs in full?
Entertainment Tonight isn’t cut down in any slot.
According to this week’s guide it airs at 6:30am and 1pm in a full 30 minute timeslot.
Next week it moves to 11:30am in a full 30 minutes slot.
Not true @David, according to TVTonight, Entertainment Tonight is NOT on next Tuesday morning and starts at 11:40am on Wednesday morning
It is and has regularly been cut down depending on the run time of the preceding program, it may not be with the schedule full of factuals currently, but with longer reality in the slot such as Masterchef not that long ago it was airing for various lengths.
This will likely resume again for the new morning timeslot when we’ve got Hunted etc back in the schedule in a few days time, it’s easy to see why they think it’s easy to cut that show down to fill the slot as needed.
Yes, the episodes are cut in the first screening on most days. They can be as short as 10mins.
Well the guides say otherwise. Most of them are 30 minutes slots. Are you suggesting there’s 15 minutes of ads and 15 minutes of ET?
All 30 minutes slots but 1.
Also, from next Tuesday midnight on 10Peach in a half an hour slot.
Just because it shows 30 mins, doesn’t mean the full episode will air, depending on the length of the reality program repeat. More are airing as 30 mins at the moment with Ten running proper 60 min programs in the 7:30pm timeslot. This will change when the bloated reality programs return.
With respect, I’m not sure how much clearer it can be made to you and citing current guides isn’t proof.
The show is 100% cut down a lot of times because of the varying lengths of the reality shows that usually follow it - as I said the factuals airing currently (that usually stick to tight 60 min slots) mean that it’s not happening currently.
But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. @Jbar has posted about it a number of times before and confirmed that it happens above, I’ve seen it with my own eyes when reality shows are on.
I guarantee it will happen again as soon as Hunted etc return and run for varying lengths, given it appears the new reality encore daytime slot is before ET will air.
I know it’s happened in the past. I’ve seen JBar’s numerous posts about it. I’m just noting that for the foreseeable future it looks like it’s scheduled in a 30 minute slot.
Even with Hunted back next week, ET appears to be in a 30 minute slot.
I know things change etc but just noting for now it appears to be full episodes.
