Definitely, especially 16-39s! Assuming bulk of that would’ve been 30s and late 20s, but wouldn’t be surprised if some young adults and teenagers, even older children with an interest in news or the royal family etc had a decent showing too.
The 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards®.
LIVE Monday, 15 March From 11.00am.
Music’s Biggest Night® Gets A Pandemic Pivot.
While the GRAMMYs® will look a little different this year, they’ll be no less illustrious.
Usually award season’s first cab of the rank, The 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards® will finally take place LIVE from Los Angeles, and seen exclusively on 10, from Monday, 15th March at 11.00am.
Hosted by The Daily Show ’s Trevor Noah, buckle up for performances by Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Megan Thee Stallion, Billie Eilish, Post Malone, Harry Styles, BTS and Doja Cat.
With an audience-less venue containing five stages facing each other in a circle, the ceremony will highlight the year’s creative triumphs, social justice movements as well as COVID-19’s impact on the arts.
And as a fitting touch, front of house and backstage concert venue workers from three independent theatres including New York’s Apollo Theatre will present various categories throughout the night.
But where is my daily Studio 10 fix, we hear you ask? Never fear. Prior to the GRAMMYs® your favourite morning show kicks off from 7.00am for one day only.
Given it is talking specifically about “the fallout”, Monday night was probably too soon. Particularly as at that particular time in Australia the show had yet to even air in the UK.
According to online guides, the Grammy Awards will be shown on delay in QLD, SA, NT and WA.
Maybe. But I think most here have agreed that Hughesy was a bit of a waste, considering the >1.3m metro lead-in. Should’ve capitalised. And again as NewsWeary correctly predicted before Monday and explained again later, it did turn out to be massive, so not like 10 should’ve prepared for mediocre ratings.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
It’s a bit hard to cover the “fallout” if it hasn’t happened yet. What content was there by 9.30 on Monday night apart from a stream of tweets? That’s not a show. A lot of the reaction and reporting has only occurred since the program went to air in the UK which was Tuesday morning Australian time.
Adjusted for market size and ratings, 10 actually paid a fair
bit more
How much did each of them pay?
And you know how much they paid?

10 $400,000
ITV $1.7m
Considering international sales are negotiated and pegged to market size and ratings / revenue estimates
ITV paid about 4x as much as 10 but got about 8x as many viewers
As 10 is a wholly owned & operated division of CBS, not sure why they had to pay anything.
They’re a big multi-national company. Money like this moves around between subsidiaries and other business units all the time. Nothing is for free even when you’re owned by the same company.

Updated 21/03/2021
About time! Wonder if viewers will return in a good showing again though, perhaps optimal time with BH&G flailing?
10’s main channel will continue to come last if this persists I fear.
This week’s schedule for 10 has been adjusted above to reflect different finishing times for The Amazing race with episodes pushed back a day thanks to the Oprah interview.
Looks like The Amazing Race Australia finale will be on Sunday March 28, which falls in Easter non-ratings. It will be interested to see if it comes up against MAFS.
The current season is taking a week off in Britain. So late in the season too.
