Just for Laughs Sydney 2024 is taking this place this week and next week (November 18-28), with the main event, the All-Star Gala, to be held at Sydney Opera House this Saturday night, November 23. Like previous years, the performances may be filmed for a series of specials to air on 10 next year.

Is Hunted back this year?

No confirmation yet.

If I had to guess, I’d say they may rest it for a year before deciding whether to go again.

Mixing up the format last year with the Heist to start the episode didn’t probably work as they expected.

I see that Big Brother is surprisingly not mentioned either.

Seven still owns the rights to the format and brand until the contract expires on 1 July 2025.
They are still airing repeats of their recent seasons on 7flix and 7plus.

I believe 10 is unable to advertise or promote the show until then.

Ten have said that it will sceen in Quarter 4.

Hunted is usually filmed from February to March. However, the lack of on-screen advertisement calling for contestants in the past few months suggest it won’t be shot this year.

The end of the year does include a new treat -a Christmas movie for Paramount+ and 10, Staycation.

“It’s a joint commission. So it will play on both platforms at the same time. Partnering with Ludo Studios just made the most sense. It’s a really good script. It’s exciting, it’s family, and it’s funny. We’ve had it in development for a long time. Maybe they won’t all make sense, but this one made sense.”

I really hope they can work something out with Thank God You’re Here. It is very working dog though to want a break from shows.

I know they want to protect quality and integrity of their output but to be turning away work from thirsty networks surely isn’t the best business decision.
I’m sure ten would have approached them many times for more TGYH, cheap seats and HYBPA eps a year and they never do it.
But maybe they just don’t want to grow any bigger than they are and therefore holding out is the best business decision for them.

The article and Dan’s comments are a bit confusing and contradictory tbh.

It says it’s not returning with “no season of Thank God You’re Here in 2025” but then goes on to say Working Dog are taking a break and pursuing other projects while also saying they haven’t confirmed a series, they haven’t recommissioned it, and they’re working through it now.

Guess it leaves the door open (no pun intended) for a possible series to still air this year :crossed_fingers:t3:

Remember, Working Dog used a similar approach with Thank God You’re Here during the Bourne era. If I recall correctly, it started in much the same way as this current ‘hiatus’ period. Back then, it ended with both the show’s format and its host moving to a rival network. (Not saying that will necessarily happen again, though.)

Interestingly according to this feature.

After all, they currently have a trio of popular shows – Have You Been Paying Attention?, Thank God You’re Here and The Cheap Seats – all returning this year.
