Ten News First Presenters and Reporters (2015-Sept 2020)

Roz Kelly, who hosted Ten’s Big Bash League coverage in the past two seasons, is joining Ten Eyewitness News as weekend sports presenter in February 2019, resisting an offer from her former employer Nine to co-host Wide World of Sports with James Bracey. Roz’s second child is due this October.

An excellent appointment. They really need a weekend sports presenter.

They’re wasting their time and can’t be taken seriously if they intend to persist with national bulletins on weekends. I had hoped the investment they’ve been making in talent may lead to an attempt to lure viewers back by offering relevant, local content, particularly to viewers outside of Sydney and Melbourne.

Yes - it was that or a pair of crutches

Heck they could even pre-record local windows (like Nine) and AFL/NRL sports reports for weekends and it would be much cheaper (and more local than what they have right now), but obviously Ten is still in denial of the importance of local news.

As much as I agree that Ten should have a better local news presence on weekends, this probably has something to do with the indefinite continuation of national bulletins:

Although I could understand why Nine might’ve wanted Roz Kelly back on their network, TBH would’ve thought that Seven and/or Fox Sports would be most interested in her services for presenting cricket coverage!

Good pick-up for Ten nonetheless.

If a small local station in Buttfuck, Iowa can afford to produce a bulletin for an audience much smaller than the population of Queensland or WA, then little old channel Ten, now backed by CBS, should be able to scrape together funding to produce a bulletin for every mainland state capital.

Great to hear. Fantastic presenter. Have missed her presenting on our screens.

Perhaps Seven and Fox were interested. However, I assume a regular weekend news gig would be preferable to a woman with a newborn and toddler than travelling around the country covering cricket matches

The story in The Sunday Mail also states that Kelly will report across the network, including its “revamped flagship show Sports Tonight

but they haven’t had weekend bulletins since 1992… focus on what you can with what you have then expand.

2011 *

There were local bulletins in 1992 lexington. 2011 was when they took a dump on it :frowning:

not past then.

they need to focus on building what they have before adding to the mix. yes it’s too slow for you lot, but suck it up.

Natasha Exelby is back on Ten for a cameo on Disgrace. First time since she was sacked from Wake Up?

She reported on the news after Wake Up IIRC. And she appeared on The Project last year.

She has been a guest panellist on Studio 10 too (and was great).
