Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Gen

This was good tonight. The Pete Smith prize read was funny and Shaun’s comments about his past on Channel Nine were hilarious.

It felt like it was more like the original series on Ten. The guests were quite good too. Shaun and the team leaders still go off on a tangent a bit too often but the show was better than last year.

Great episode tonight

These were the highlights. The Kerry Packer bit gave me a serious case of the lolz

Tonight was lots of fun, very happy to see Trust Me on the first episode back! Shaun-to-Captains banter felt like they were much closer friends.

Announcing the next game before the ad breaks felt a little strange, especially End Game since it’s meant to be a big mystery.

These Gen Z’s are all unknown people to me. Yet I know who all the Gen Y’s are.

Must be getting old. Are you Gen Y?

I’m only early 30’s lol. Yes Gen Y.

As they mentioned, Angourie Rice won the AACTA Award for Best Lead Actress in 2018 for Ladies in Black and was in The Nice Guys.

You need to stay in touch with what’s new and trending, otherwise you’ll end up being one of those people who says: “Those young people and their…blah, blah, blah”. :older_man: :older_woman:

Just caught up and seems they’ve scrapped the “Yo Gen” round before the “End Game”.

While I personally enjoy the antics, it almost feels too loose and unpolished these days that there’s much less actual content left.

I couldn’t remember the name of the segment that didn’t air but it was usually the best part, fast and fun. The End Game just annoys me so I never watch it.

I was feeling like I was a grump because I found there to be very little actual game play. Still fun to watch but we don’t need so much wackiness from Shaun.

Yo Gen has been relegated to one of the games that might be picked by a team from the 4 buttons. Shame, as it was one of the best parts. Seems to have been replaced by As Quick As where Shaun boils a kettle and there’s 1 minute of fast questions.

FEEL THE LOVE WHEN SOPHIE MONK JOINS ANDY LEE ON TALKIN’ ‘BOUT YOU GENERATION

WEDNESDAY 8 MAY AT 7.30PM

Love Island host and TAYG favourite, Sophie Monk , takes a seat next to Andy Lee as they join forces and attempt a coveted win for Generation Y on Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation , Wednesday, May 8, at 7.30pm on Nine and 9Now.

But it’s a tough competition this time when all the team captains are joined by celebrity representatives of Gen X, Y and Z for a knockdown, drag-out, dust-off-and-apologise bout of inter-generational warfare.

Joining Gen X captain, Robyn Butler , in the oldest of our teams, is award-winning comedian, Arj Barker . Sophie and Andy have their game faces on for Gen Y, and AFLW star, the headline-making Tayla Harris , is in it to win it for team Gen Z alongside Laurence Boxhall .

Almighty host and resident baby boomer, Shaun Micallef , takes no prisoners as he dishes out the tough questions with a speed and precision to give Eddie McGuire a run for his money. Watch as the kettle boils over, love is all but lost, and everyone felt cute – but might delete later.

Who can hear best? Who can art most? And most importantly, who can dodge alien digestive fluids to the max? Find out on Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation on Wednesday, May 8, at 7.30pm on Nine and 9Now.

Do they still call it/abbreviate it “Your Gen”? 10 always did. Promos saying “Talkin bout your Gen” doesn’t roll off the tongue as well.

Bring back “TAYG”, I say

Nah. TBYG just rolls off the tongue. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

This was great:

Strange that they showed these episodes out of order. This week’s is labelled Ep 1 and there were a couple of moments where it was obvious it was filmed before last week’s Ep.

Sophie Monk was brilliant I thought this week.

I guess they’re trying to air the best episodes first. By doing this people won’t switch off after watching an episode if they don’t like and not watch the remaining episodes in the series even if they’re better.

They aired them out of order last season too, it’s not unusual
