If I need a chemist, I go to a somewhat proper one, not a warehouse type one.
Same, but my regular is in walking distance. If I need something that isn’t prescription and on sale, then I do look for that type.
Chemist Warehouse can get stuffed though. Only thing they’re good for is the freebies at the footy.
Me too. Chemist Warehouse is okay, it’s close by for me and good for toiletries, supplements etc and they usually have what I want.
The ones near me are always full, aisles are too narrow and rival Blacktown Kmart for untidiness.
Chemist Warehouse l have opened in a few larger premises in the last couple of years which are not so bad. In Rockdale Plaza, they had replaced a chemist originally and it was chaotic. They then took over a former Best and Less which is about the same size as ALDI next door.
Nearby in Kogarah, they just opened another massive one in what was a discount store/Home Base and originally a GJ Coles Variety discount store. Good to see the big stores find a new use.
They’re always so overloaded with stock and promotional garbage, it’s like going to a prison window to speak to a pharmacist and there’s always a giant line of people and rude pharmacists. Not a place I ever liked to frequent, only ever used it as it was 24 hours.
Exactly. At least my local chemist knows what shit I take and takes the time to have a chat.
Also 24 hour shops - handy in some instances, but some do need to take some time out and close for a bit. Blacktown and Mt Druitt KMart are two very big examples. You don’t need imitation Stanley Cups at 3am in the morning.
But how else are you going to store that leftover nightlife party liquor
Not my problem. Western Sydney bogan meth heads don’t need shit at 3am.
Best thing those two stores could do is stop opening 24 hours and make their stores a bit more presentable.
There really is no need for K Mart between 10pm and 6am.
Having a hub 24 hour pharmacy is pretty bloody good though. There was one in Western Melbourne that would come in handy and was always busy for families and helped relieve the burden on emergency rooms for minor things.
Exactly.
Now this would be a good idea out this way. Blacktown hospital ER is filled with people who don’t need to be there. A 24 hour urgent care hub with attached pharmacy with appropriate security would be sensational.
there’s one in brisbane that has been a godsend. its a hospital pharmacy (greenslopes private hospital) that has a retail arm. as they need to be open for the hospital anyway they keep the pharmacy open using the same pharmacists.
Same but I think often when I need to get my meds they have what I need , not other chemists in my area so. The aisle in my local CW are usually full of boxes ans stuff that have items that needs to be shelved
Seems weird! I wonder if they will compete on price as many other retailers carrying the same brands do. I notice they stock Clinique - would rather get from a department store.
There was a time that Priceline was cheaper than the department stores but not sure that’s true any more.
And won’t be under Wesfarmers.
Chemist Warehouse is near impossible to navigate the isles with a pram. Theres no hope even going down an isle if a staff member is putting away stock with one of those big trolleys.
Couldnt imagine how much of a nightmare it would be in a wheelchair
Agree about the older stores but they are not all the same. The newer ones have aisles as wide as a supermarket.
