Yikes! Christmas stuff out in full swing already? Way! Too! Early!
Christmas is becoming a year round thing pretty much!
for locals yes - but i have friends who send christmas stuff overseas and they pretty much need to send now otherwise it wonāt make it
Big W have put out Christmas trees & decorations during the last week of August for a couple of years now, I used to think they were way too early when Big W used to start putting Christmas stuff out in mid September, but this is taking it to a new level.
I can understand trees and decorations as people would want to plan ahead - buy for December. But all the food stuff is a bit much.
I think many people still send out Christmas food to their relatives or friends back to UK and Europe by sea mail.
They also already had the Cadbury Marshmallow Santas out when I was at my own Woolies on Saturday. Seems to be very early this year.

Coles is launching a major assault on rival Dan Murphyās by rebranding its Vintage Cellars and First Choice liquor stores as Liquorland stores.
The supermarket giant will do the rebranding in stages: a first brand will see nine stores across Victoria, Queensland, and SA rebrand in November, with Vintage Cellars to be Liquorland Cellars, and First Choice Liquor Market becoming Liquorland Warehouse.
I donāt see the point of rebranding considering First Choice is a direct competitor to Danās but I donāt recall it ever being referred to as Liquorland so I would have kept it as is. Vintage cellars makes more sense as they were always in more up market suburbs and stocked more upmarket drinks but I think in recent times they have diverged closer to Liquorland. But to brand themselves all as Liquorland seems stupid and unnecessarily for First Choice.
I think itās a good move and makes more sense in that it will give Liquorland a stronger brand presence and one ad can cover all their stores.
I would agree with you regarding Vintage cellars but First Choice is completely different their stores are situated away from Coles stores in the most part and a standard customer probably would not associate them with Coles or Liquorland. It makes sense if you know that First Choice is owned by the same company but most customers would not necessarily know that.
The article literally says their research shows Liquorland as their most memorable brand under the Coles umbrella.
I would agree, because they are practically next to almost every Coles full line supermarket. There are very few First Choice stores around by comparison.
Funnily enough, my BIG W store usually has Christmas stock (on pallets waiting for the time to set up the area in the store) by June/July. This year, the stock only arrived late last week⦠but was starting to be set up on Monday.
Amusingly thereās a First Choice in Werribee which rebranded from Liquorland Warehouseā¦
Weird that they tried it, gave up, and now are going backā¦
When was Liquor land warehouse a thing?
Theyāve changed their branding a lot since then to go upmarket like Dans though.
Originally it was a First Choice before it became a LLW.
Edit: Was more than likely a trial. The Coles in Werribee was a similar thing where they used green font instead of red.
Starting to see Christmas trees being put out in Kmart . Not even October. Correct me if Iām wrong but donāt the trees usually come out mid October or early November ?
