that would explain the increasingly desperate emails im getting off them offering pretty good discounts. I have some family members who books make great presents and booktopia has a good range of author signed ones that some people (especilly my mother with signed cookbooks) love

BIGW, Kmart and Amazon have all reported positive book sales recently, so no real surprise where the Booktopia sales have gone.
However I think Amazon has eroded most of their share. The department stores can hold their ground.
BIGW and Amazon offer book delivery for $4. Having a Quick Look, those two, plus Kmart, are largely still cheaper vs Booktopia. Booktopia want $10 for delivery. Eg. The same two New Release books from Booktopia with Delivery is $50. BIGW is $36 delivered. If you only want one book, BIGW is $20 total, Booktopia $30. We pretty much only buy books from those three players purely for the convenience of the cheap delivery fee and it lands on our door 2-3 days later, Booktopia often take 7-10 days and they come from Sydney.
If I want to buy a new book, I prefer physical stores like Dymocks, QBD and independents like Robinson’s. I will only consider Booktopia for special editions like those signed by the author, and audiobooks.
Nothing really new. They are just policies by other providers masked as Aldi who take cut on each policy sold. I think the airlines even offer insurance these days.
Doesn’t seem to be that cheap either with insurance for my car being at least $1k more than AAMI. They try and disguise the cost by showing a monthly cost where most others show the yearly cost first and is dominant on the page.
But it’s good, different?
Harris Scarfe like to waste money on re-brands don’t they?
Target’s looks kinda pointless too.
That Safeway sign looked a tad rusted.
Let’s have hs initials and capital letters.
Now let’s have hs initials and lower case letters.
Now let’s have no hs initials and upper case letters.
So I’m imagining the next rebrand is upper case initials and all upper case words?
They’d be better off spending that money in getting their stores right.
It’s just a build up of filth. See it on a lot of signage, particularly if there are trees close by or not much direct sunlight. My local Coles’ pylon sign has done the same thing.
The Big W logo is outdated.
Target’s looks kinda pointless too.
Target’s new logo is just poorly timed if anything. The original one was far more recognizable and the current one will forever be tied to the chain’s downfall as it was introduced with the whole rebrand of them trying to be a fast fashion brand.
Compare that to the one used in the US.
Target is great in the US. They have an awesome store in New York City that recently opened. I was our local Target here the other day and it’s just so grim. Lighting was poor, all the shelving hasn’t been replaced in decades, and it’s just all Anko shit now.
I’ve seen some videos on TikTok with Americans down under walking into our Target and saying how crap it is.
As long as I get whay i need and they have it. I dont care what the stores look like.
Yes i did hear that Target in America is brtter than our version but i would rather have a crappy looking one then onw copied from the US.
What a weird hill to die on
