Supermarkets and Retail

I swipe when i’m there (also easier for reimbursements as well from work - i wait for the statement to come in and pop it all in one slab). alot of places went cash free during covid and didn’t bother to go back. my favourite deep dish place did it as well as most of wrigley field

Bed Bath and Broke sounds better to me.

Potato, Potatoe. It’s all semantics.

Is this connected to the Australian arm at all? Articles refer to US stores.

There’s an Australian version?

Bed Bath n Table?

They’re not connected are they?

There’s no Australian division.

So then who is @Bronson talking about?

My apologies, I thought they rebranded from “table” to “beyond”. As you were.

There might have been a bit of confusion with the separate NZ arm, which Stuff helpfully clarified when it published its own article.

Supermarket giant Coles has opened the Southern Hemisphere’s largest automated distribution centre as part of a $1 billion investment to improve its supply chain.

The Redbank facility in Queensland is Australia’s first ever automated distributed centre, and is set to be followed by a second Coles automated distributed centre that will open in Kemps Creek in New South Wales next year.

More than 90 per cent of the stock processed at the centres will be done completely by automated systems using Witron technology.

Viva’s acquisition of Coles Express has formally been completed today with Eureka Operations (Coles) handing the keys of ‘Coles Express’ over to Viva.

And according to an ABC article, they’ll be rebranded OTR

When that process is done and we’ve got clearance, the deal will close and we’ll be on our way to making OTR the national brand it deserves to be," OTR founder Yasser Shahin told ABC Radio Adelaide’s Stacey Lee and David Bevan.

That regulatory approval process could take anywhere from six to 18 months, Mr Shahin said.

He said the reason for the deal meant OTR was “going national” and would “replace Coles Express”.

“The intention and the reason behind this deal is to replace what is now the Coles Express brand in 700-plus Shell sites and replace that with OTR,” he said.

I still reckon they should be branded FUFO - Fill Up and F**k Off.

How Aussie would that be. They could get the VB Longneck at 20 to 8 Guy to voice the ads.
