Remember Soundgoods?
I think we had a Trax in Mornington years ago in the shopping centre at the start of main street.
Ah, Trax. I remember there was one at Mirrabooka Shopping Centre in WA during the early to mid 2000s. There used to be a Trax in Morley Galleria upstairs as well, before the Sanity that was downstairs replaced it when Sanityâs previous location later became a Factorie store. It remains to this day.
Some of my Mumâs old CDs still bear the price tags⊠(taken in 2018):
I wonder if the price font is the same used by Ten News between 1994 to 2005, as it certainly looks similarâŠ
In Adelaide we had CC Records, used to love going there when visiting.
My work (non-Big W) currently offer a photo service, and we have been told it is a category in decline and will be virtually non-existent in about 4 years time. In saying that, they are investing in updated kiosks which will also encompass other non-photo products and services that compliment the photographic offer.
Have heard across the local media/Facebook groups that the Ampol at Swan View (currently branded as Caltex with Vortex) will supposedly be closing next week for rebranding to their new owner Vibe.
Makes sense, considering several other former Caltex locations were purchased late year and converted to Vibe (Bassendean, Beechboro, West Swan). Surprised theyâve been allowed to continue using the Caltex brand for this long.
Based on Fuelwatch, the location has disappeared entirely, so may have already closed for conversion.
Also noted that the Caltex to Vibe conversions in WA were mostly former Ampol company-owned EDR Points/Woolworths 4c redemption sites, with Vibe bringing in the IGA 4c redemptions at the former Caltex sites.
Seems those sites werenât bringing in the revenue/were surplus to Ampol requirements.
As a frequent visitor to Bunning, I havenât previously had an issue with customers and their dogs in the store. But this story makes you think again.
Had no idea you could take dogs into Bunnings. I donât believe you can take them into Kmart or BIGW.
Not sure what the lawyers have to say about this one. Other customers slipping over over peoples dog shit, I assume Bunnings gets the claim however itâs a bit rich expecting staff to be monitoring dogs in the store making sure they donât make a mess on the floor. Easy option- donât allow them.
In South Australia retail stores were able to open from 9am this morning, 2 hours earlier than previously after new laws came into effect today.
Crazy how these regional cities () still have such archaic and ancient laws.
The irony is, the actual regional cities within SA donât have these restrictions*
- Except for 3 âproclaimed shopping districtsâ in addition to metro and Adelaide CBD
Would Millicent be one of them?
I am pretty sure QLD has some of these backward rules also especially on Weekends. I noted some supermarkets in FNQ only opening 9-6 on weekends etcâŠ8am during the week.
Down here in Melbourne its all 7-11pm ish. My local Woolworths runs 6am-12am every day. Even Kmart and BIGW are open until 8/9pm each night. We landed in Queensland and went to Coles only to find it shut at 6pm. We turned up at 630pm quite shocked, and the locals when asked were quite shocked when we told them our Supermarkets down south shut at 10pm every day!
I love my 24-hour Kmart here in Launceston.
Was a bit surprising seeing major supermarkets on the Sunshine Coast close at 6pm on a Sunday!
Agree for the most part re most of Qld. Standard trading hours are 7am to 9pm Mon-Sat and 9am to 6pm on Sunday/Public Holidays for the majors.
Speciality Shop Hours may vary.
There is a 24 hour Woolworths in the Brisbane Airport area, but this is due to being on Federal Government owned land.
its very frustrating on a sunday when you realise you ran out of bread (for example) and the supermarket is closed so you need to pay 7/11 prices.
this woolies shows thereâs demand for unrestricted trading hours. go on days when other shops are shut and see how packed it is. Ive also gone at 1am when my wife was preggers and there was a decent crowd there than too
