Similar to Bondi Junction with Kmart above David Jones.

It’s Target and David Jones at Eastland

My local Kmart has like nothing on the shelf In dozens of areas is this the same everywhere? Toys and Home Storage areas are wiped out.

Went into Target seemed not too bad, then to BIGW which had so much shit everywhere you could barely move around.

Bizarre in stock differences between the three. Kmart seemed to have under ordered and I’ve never seen such much stock stacked in BIGW literally everywhere.

Does anyone remember Bunnings being part of Flybuys in the past? Or am I dreaming?

I noticed the other day that they sent a message on the Flybuys app of an offer of points at Bunnings and Officeworks. It was a bit unclear about whether it was a permanent thing since the offer seemed to have a time limit.

Flybuys at Bunnings has been in the works for a while - Wesfarmers had mentioned it at several investor days

Bunnings has been behind the times when it came to online and rewards.

I know a few people at Bunnings and the online platforms they use are apparently terrible vs say what Woolworths use.

Woolworths/BIGW use Azure, Kmart use AWS, and Bunnings is still largely all in house. Which is why in lockdowns the stores could only process 200 orders a day which resulted in a week wait for click and collect orders. It’s just not a user/customer friendly system. Where as under Azure, you can do 3-4x that volume with similar resources. Also gives them the ability to much easily integrate the rewards programs with such software, it’s a seamless experience across all platforms and banners within a business.

True but it is not like there is another big competitor they need to sway customers away from like Coles and Woollies have for competition…I am very surprised they have got involved

It’s for the data.

I think Coles with Flypay you can redeem your Flybuys online… but you can’t for Liquorland etc?.. you can redeem Everyday Rewards online for Woolies and Big W and BWS.

Coles have now updated their app so you can shop online for click and collect and delivery. The app also allows you to see what’s in store at the time you are browsing and tells you what’s not available.

Woolies always seems 1 step ahead. Ever since I had the app for Woolies they had those features.

Also, Coles is still $50min spend vs $30 at Woolies for click and collect.

They did create a whole new part of the business ‘Woolies X’ which is based in its own building in Surry Hills, in order to lure global talent, and turbocharge that part of the business. They even have started up a BIGW X too.

Coles probably needs to do something similar. Coles under Wesfarmers sat more than one step behind Woolworths when it came to digital.

Virgin moved its Velocity program to Surry Hills also. Was a completely different business to Virgin Australia and was highly successful/profitable in the last decade, competed to its owner.

Don’t underestimate location/talent.

If only you didn’t need to have the physical card to use your flybuy dollars….I have asked them so many times over the last 5 years and keep getting “thanks for the feedback”
Surely I can’t be the only person who wants this?

A family member recently added my number when purchasing insurance through Coles and I now get asked every time I shop if I want to redeem 2000 points for $10 off - so the capability exists for redemptions without the stupid loading process and card swiping.

I thought I read something recently that said they were moving towards making redemptions without a card possible at some point in the near future, can’t remember where though.

Yes, that’s how you redeem points for dollars but you then need to swipe your card when purchasing to use those dollars.

No, if you click “yes” then it takes $10 off your shop and deducts 2000 points from your account. This is the description on the website -

OK. Thanks. So is it only available to those who use Coles Financial Services?
