Oh, well that’s okay then. I’m sure every customer will strictly adhere to that rule, and definitely not argue the point if a staff member suggests otherwise.
I’ve seen some disgusting and horrid reusable bags at the checkouts, so I already have doubts about the cleanliness standards of some customers’ containers.
Really sounds like a business box ticking it’s sustainability KPIs. Bonuses all round for all.
They need one for cofee capsules rather than just dropping them off at a florist /garden centre or mailing them in .
I did find out from Nespresso they do accept other brands capsules now provided they are 100 percent aluminium
Also on a different topic i swear shortcut bacon at Woolies and Coles was rolled back to $14 a kg from $17 … when i login now it says $16 a kg .
You’re right, originally 17, dropped to 14 (same as it’s usual special price), now it is back to 16.
Yet every 2 weeks my small IGA has Primo short cut bacon for … $13 a kilo on special and . The IGA one tastes better I think Woolies is Dorsogna . IGA sometimes has it for $8 a kilo on special but that’s every several months.
Also they have the chobani small yoghurt on special at the moment at Woolies the 170g i think the size is and the special price is the old rolled back price lol i think $1.70 save 55c …
Earlier story
Coles still has it
Gotta have some confidence that Wesfarmers isn’t going to imminently shut the division down if they’re opening stores again.
Don’t think they would ever close it, flog it off to some private equity more like it.
They need to show some stability I guess, new format results etc, would get a better price for it.
BIGW must not be far away from being sold also. Probably need to cycle out of this financial year then show a clean year or two of earnings/stability, and 2023/4 it will be sold off. Should get quite a substantial price for it if it’s earnings grow.
Woolworths seems to be moving toward a business just containing its supermarket, and associated subsidiaries, which support its supermarket operation (ie Food Services)
Decided to give the new Target Cairns City store a visit. The fit out is extremely cheap (simply a rebadged Kmart). The store is such a downgrade compared to the previous store where Kmart now resides.
I did think it looked quite Kmart-y when I saw it on social media the other day.
Did they swap the Target and Kmart stores around?
Almost looks like a cross between Kmart and Trade Secret/TK Maxx
If they fixed the roof it would look heaps better. That is one area they skimp on in particular in the outer suburban locations. It could look worse.
Yes but it wasn’t planned originally.
Google still has some photos of the previous store - so much more inviting than now.
Nothing has been changed from the previous Kmart fit-out though. All the shelving and layouts are identical to before, just rebadged to Target.
I went shopping at Woolworths at The Glen before work this morning, and noticed that new cash registers with small cameras had been installed at self-serve checkouts, while plastic screens separating the cash registers had also been removed.
Surprised Target has opened a new store. They really hit Townsville bad when they shut the Castletown store which is far closer to the CBD than the store out at Willows.
That Old Target Cairns store (now Kmart) looked like it was refurbished not too long ago?
Pretty sure the store out in Stocklands had similar treatment, plus a Cafe, under then CEO Stuart Machin who came from Coles.
I actually liked the format they did around 2015.
These Kmart like stores don’t do much for me, or the Target brand.
