Hope they don’t rely on that clock for when their shift starts.
Yeah. I think the original logo looks more contemporary than what is used now.
Can’t help thinking that they would have been better off calling these new stores Kmart hub. You keep your branding but you can make the distinction. The word hub could have been in a red circle like the centre of Target.
I think over time the locals will just call it Kmart anyway. How many do you think referred to Target Country by their full name?
There’ll be seven new Melbourne stores, in Merrifield, Clyde, Epping, Caroline Springs, Eltham, Greenvale and Kingsway (in South Melbourne); and 14 in Sydney, in suburbs such as Mosman, Penrith, Sydenham, Willoughby and Thornleigh.
Oooooooh…fancy!
I wonder if they’ll have people to come out and fill up your engines and give you the once over?
LOL, that service would probably only be available at BP-David Jones stores in the rich, well off areas of Sydney & Melbourne!
Penrith is not rich or well off! Neither is Ashfield mind you.
Yes, I’m well aware that Penrith is far from well off while Ashfield is more or less the Inner West Sydney equivalent of Cabramatta. Just my lame attempt at adding to your joke!
Think they’ve misjudged the market here. Can’t speak for Sydney, but there’s all of about two stores in Melbourne that I think might do well.
That being said, if it means we’re one step closer to our own version of Pret then I’m not complaining
They announced this partnership over a year ago and have still barely made any progress until now.
DJs have said so much about expanding within the premium food / convenience market, yet currently have one food market and 2 BP locations to show for it in 5 years. I remain sceptical in relation to how far they’re actually get.
I’ve been to the DJ’s Food/BP in Kingsford. It is basically dead. I can understand it with the pandemic and all, but I can’t help but think of the sheer amount of expensive food they must be throwing out every day.
The Woolworths Metro/Caltex down the road does gangbusters. Very popular in comparison.
Depends on your market. In that case, people want the basics, not upmarket stuff. Therefore, that explains why Woolies Metro/Caltex is popular.
Apparently Kmart in NZ was using the old logo (used from 1988 to 1992) all the way up until 2013 on some stores. I dig the neon!
Some Coles customers had been charged twice by using click and collect service.

You mean Click and InCorrect service?
Quest Apartments has the same crap excuse. They pre-authorise a security deposit then state it can take 14 business days for NAB to process the refund after you checkout. The last time I stayed at one earlier in the year, the pre-authorisation left my account the moment the terminal had completed the transaction, so it is dumbfounding that it can’t be refunded immediately. When I have returned items to Woolworths and Kmart the refund has been credited back to my bank account immediately.
I’ve found it’s the same issue with car rental companies with deposits. They’re happy to take the funds but after returning the rental it takes at least a week for the funds to be transferred back in your bank account. Surely there’s another way for funds to be refunded quicker rather than 7-14 business days.
For a large enough organisation, could be a nice little earner keeping those deposits in a high interest bank account…
I think that’s the crux of why they do it. The Checkout did a story on it a couple of years ago.
Or Ring and Wrong if you are not tech savvy.
