I don’t care much for it (or any other discount department stores) myself but Kmart is a brand the Australian public are familiar with and many people seem to like, unlike Anko which is just asking to have a “W” put at the start among other rather obvious jokes.
It may have been that perception in the past, but the retail department store market was very different and moving away from it is one of the reasons why Kmart has achieved success, its allowed them to occupy a space in the market that was vacant
Woolworths have lifted all their remaining COVID-19 product limit restrictions on antibacterial wipes, frozen fruit and hand wash items. Coles lifted all product limit restrictions last month
I’m hearing that one (and maybe both) major supermarket may now have the opposite issue with a range of these products and we might see some strategic sales over the next few months if things keep improving
My local Woolies have stacks and stacks of hand sanitiser and anti-bacterial wipes, they’ll definitely need some specials soon if things don’t get worse.
Frozen fruit, on the other hand, is still hugely popular to the point I still see empty shelves in that part of the freezer.
Lead times probably have a lot to do with it as well - I know of a few places that ordered up on the forecast of things not improving, but its taken that long to materialise that its no longer needed
I suppose I should buy it on discount now - but I know I’d be buying a big bottle to have on my desk once I need to go back to the office, so I can see there being a spike again down the track a bit.
