The upper levels still have expanded lines of electronics like Big W.

I’m sure that’s the first floor only. Magazines/greeting cards/clothes/photo processing/kitchenware/electrical/home furnishings/hardware/pet food etc. I think the second floor cafeteria is abandoned now and access is blocked.

Another fail for Woolworths Scan & Go trial. Couldn’t even use the app today at Double Bay, supposedly due to too many concurrent users. Or did they restrict the number of users?

Too many users wanting 25% off prepaid Visa cards

There are some exclusions to the offer:

The Offer does not apply to purchases of smoking and tobacco products, liquor, gift cards (including iTunes), mobile recharge, Woolworths Mobile, travel cards, intervention items, donations, Carpet Care, Pre-order Kiosks or purchases on a charge account.

I was around there today so I checked out the second floor at Woolworths Town Hall.

The cafeteria has actually reopened as the Met2 Cafe with reduced seating. They’ve moved the Digital Photo Centre next to it. There’s a section with DVDs, photo albums, batteries, travel products and prepaid SIMs and Gift Cards. Also new Australia Post parcel lockers and Simply Collect lockers.

About a third of the floor is blocked off and used to store stock for the whole store.

I don’t get robina as a location at this time - it’s too close to dreamworld.

It would be a good attraction to young school kids on holidays whilst they are on the Gold Coast.

Perhaps a little bit back to the future?

Earlier in August and this month, I had noticed Australia Post had been using a revised logo on online ads that uses a non-stylised “Australia Post” wordmark next to the red postal horn symbol:

For reference, this is what they used before 1996:

Pre-2014:

And since 2014:

Probably wise. Didn’t need a P logo and stylised P competing for attention.

The smaller Bourke Street building houses the menswear, luggage and toys departments. They will all move to the main store on the opposite side.

And the food hall in the basement. Little but if trivia, the building was originally the flagship Coles Variety store including the famous cafeteria and prior to that Cole’s Book Arcade (no relation to G J Coles) which from all reports was the most extraordinary of shops.

Did you notice the postal horn in the logo?

The new look is definitely harking back to their pre-1990s look with the red logo. I wonder if new postboxes will get the same classic treatment.

Pakistan Post can keep the stylised P

Interesting to see a different satchel design when they changed the colour / design of the Parcel Post satchels about 2 months ago. Guess they’ll be changing it again!
