How on Earth can a supermarket be so reliant on a fucking computer that they can’t serve customers once self-serve registers go down?

Yeah. They should have had a back up abacus rolled out to calculate the purchases.

Wouldn’t be a bad idea for every store to upgrade their handheld RF guns to transact customers in the rare case of a system meltdown. A bit like Macca’s with their mobile devices. Would have paid for themselves this afternoon.
