It’s that time of the year again. Aldi has revealed via the latest catalogue that it will begin selling hot cross buns from this weekend, while Coles will have the buns available from tomorrow, Boxing Day.

Was at my local Woolies on Monday and could see through the stock room doors a pallet load of easter eggs

I can’t wait for Christmas to arrive so I can get in an Easter mood.

Forget Easter eggs how about Woolworths just get actual eggs on the shelf. Supply has improved greatly yet they never have any.

You love us.

Back on topic, and how nice is it not to see every Tom, Dickhead and Harasser in Colesworths today shopping like a nuclear bomb is descending on us. Yes, I’m in a country town and every other store is shut, but still.

Always worthy of a 6pm news report

20 cents from every six or nine pack of Hot Cross Buns sold (at Coles from today until January 1) will be donated to Redkite, with the aim of helping families facing childhood cancer.

Eligible products include Traditional Fruit Hot Cross Buns 6pk, Choc Chip Hot Cross Buns 6pk, Apple and Cinnamon Hot Cross Buns 6pk, Fruit Free Hot Cross Buns 6pk, and Traditional Mini Fruit Hot Cross Buns 9pk.

All of the products retail for $4.50, or 2 for $7 in a multi-buy. The supermarket will also be bringing back their highly popular Vegemite and Cheese and Arnott’s Iced Vovo Inspired hot cross buns, priced at $5.50.

Almost everything is open at Charlestown Square here in Newcastle, was pandemonium when I was down earlier. The car park was full, which is a rarity here.

Only went to get a few groceries at Coles, that was probably the quietest store there. Was glad to get out of the place and back home.

Ah yes, I get my news from 9News Supermarkets at the self-checkout machine :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Seven not left out of this vital news item
