The Federal Court decided ALDI’s Mamia Baby Puffs was a flagrant breach of the copyright of Little Bellies Fruit Puffs.

The claim by Hampden Holdings was for breach of copyright and not that Aldi had engaged in “passing off or misleading or deceptive conduct”.

Damages have not been decided.

That’s not good, or different.

I’ve always thought that out of the major supermarkets( Woolworths, IGA, Aldi and Coles), Woolworths stores look the best.

However, Woolies have always struggled with customer service. This morning I was craving an omlette, so walked dow to Woolworths in Leichhardt. They have replaced the egg display with ham.

I asked someone stacking the shelves:
“Do you know where the eggs are?” and she replied “no”
I asked the second person “Do you know where the eggs are” and she also said “no”

I left and went to Aldi, a shop I am rarely in, and asked the first worker where the eggs are - they walked me to the eggs.

I’ve suspected for a long time that Woolworths needs to refresh its customer service. So does Coles. Aldi and IGA have the best service.

I had been craving the Woolworths Dreamy Choc Chip cookies.

The last few days there weren’t any, and nor was there anyone in bakery to ask if/when more would be available.

Finally got a 5 pack this morning, about to have one after lunch!

Customer service is dying :frowning:

I often get customers that say they prefer the oldies (sadly yes I’m getting old) vs the teenagers. Usually if I am not sure on something I’ll lead the customer to a more appropriate person that will know for sure. Sometimes I’m powerless, not every employee gets access to the RF scanners - so if a customer wants to know a price or if somethings in stock I can’t do it myself - in those situations I take them to the service desk to get looked after.

i don’t want to sound like an old “get off my lawn” man (i’m only in my mid 40’s) but i did hospo as a job so i get it, but it was drilled into me that if you don’t know, FIND OUT.
I’ve had too many occasions when ive asked a question at a shop and got nothing more than a blank stare and a “dunno mate”. When i worked both retail and hospo (especilly at crown) you’d get your arse kicked for that

I’ve never tried them. Might give them a go. Are they sorta softy like Subway cookies? With half melty choc?

Yes similar to them.

But at 56 cents per cookie ($2.80 for a 5 pack) much cheaper.

Better to buy in bulk

I don’t get Aussies complaining about the high prices of groceries.
Go to the US.

As a % of take home pay - aussie have the 7th cheapest Groceries in the world.

That’s a fair point - but relative to the amount of money people make in Australia compared to the amount of it they need to spend to feed themselves. It’s a small percentage.

Aussies know they have some of the highest salaries in the world. Why are they shocked they have some the highest groceries in the world?

It doesn’t matter if we have higher wages in comparison to other area’s of the world - people’s can’t afford goods.

Our wages may be higher, but it doesn’t meant that they have been growing at the same rate has inflation has.

Since going to the UK and USA earlier this year, I’m even more thankful for our prices here.

Particularly when eating out.

I guess it’s because it’s so visible. Six bucks for eggs that three years ago cost three bucks. It gets people scratching their heads.

And yet, while prices are higher, we are relatively well off. Because there’s so much work out there. Inflation plus high employment is preferable to the other way "round.

The problem is that most Aussies compare our prices to what they see in Bali or across Asia rather than comparable first world countries around the world.

We are Aussies. We’ll whinge about anything and everything and change the narrative to suit us.
