Lose all the prerecorded sport programming too now that SEN is in Sydney. Or even better, run a dedicated Sydney show during those times.

If this was any other Sydney commercial station Poppy would be air checked daily by the Content Director but in Bill’s eyes that costs money.

Trainwreck sound on 2BS today. Local automation in the drive show actually sounds quite good considering, with somebody doing generic breaks on the top & bottom of the ad breaks (just mentioning program name/sponsor etc. no mention of anything specific like back announcing songs). It all went downhill at 6 though when “Heading Home” ended abruptly mid-song TOH to take the network news. Ads played over the top of the last minute of news + weather + the start of Sportsday.
Is this fairly standard at BOG? Do any other stations just dump local programming instead of timing to the hour?

I’d say the issue (mainly when it comes to taking network programming) is that 2BS doesn’t use Simian unlike the rest of the BOG stations.
I’m really surprised that Caralis hasn’t yet made sweeping changes to Bathurst programming. Laws & Sportsday seem to be the only shared content.
Are they still taking Nine News even during BOG programming?

Not sure what automation they use, but timing out to TOH news should be able to happen independent of what automation they’re using - especially if it’s Zetta! Not entirely sure how it all works, but it shouldn’t be difficult to get the pulses sent out of Simian at the hub to be used to fire off the local automation…
Interesting that there is still a fair amount of local content and Nine network programs. Maybe their contract hasn’t expired yet and the changes will come when that happens?

Nope. Male voice - sounds fairly young too. I’d doubt there would’ve been enough time to put it together anyways, since they’re essentially sweepers made to sound like the show has a real host.
Surely that can’t be too hard to work around, since it’s a fairly standard feature of most automation to time exact to the hour - especially when it’s entirely automated.
Don’t know about during Nine programs, but when I heard the 5 & 6 news it certainly sounded like BOG news but I also wasn’t paying much attention since it was being outcompeted by local ads playing over the top of it!

@Paul_Covo_Covington what happened at 2HC this afternoon? Sounded like a backup tape and the 100.5 signal was being fed from the AM transmission.
In saying that the music was much nicer than the country music program at that time of day

I’ll take a guess and say that there was a power outage near where the studios are in Coffs due to a fallen power pole.

Yup. The pole fell on the highway outside the court house. Unsure if it was due to an accident or if it fell on its own. It made for a slow journey up the highway in my taxi today.

Could you provide some more information about the project that you need the audio for, and possibly what audio you would like?
There are some SRN employees active in this forum, but it is likely (and understandable) that they would be reluctant to hand over logger recordings.

Have you tried contacting the stations directly? You’re more likely to have success there than on a forum like Media Spy.

FM104.7 would not release audio unless it is stipulated what it is intended for. Also it would help if we knew what sort of audio is needed ie age, local content, etc
