2el even has 2hd promos it’s distorted and voiced over to suit but I thought it was just done out of convenience.

I tuned into 2HD on the stream. Notice it seems to be in mono so far. They had jingle they do promote the FM frequencies (not mentioning the AM frequency). The sound of 2SM is so much better night and day.

The FM relays are mono as well (stereo pilot, but the same audio on both L and R channels). Also sounds very flat and not very pleasant to listen to when music is being played.
I am hearing curiousity kills the cat now and it sounds great on the stream (2sm) so it isn’t a source issue.

Pete Davis was back on air covering for Gary Stewart, got quite a few calls too.
How did he get back in? Maybe a move post Guy Ashford?
I wonder if he never let and was behind the scenes I can tell he’s tired of the repetition of the callers though

I noticed recently that, Brent Bultitude is playing more music in his afternoon show. Sounds good on the stream from 2SM.

I don’t think they dominated the awards though, that was probably the abc, 2sm only got a minor spanking I really would like to know how they rate regionally but I doubt it’s more than abc and FM choices though.

The most recent Newcastle 2HD results are typical of what I’ve seen the AM Super Radio Network rate in comparison to other commercials eg. Hit/Triple M in competitive markets like Port Macquarie and Coffs. I imagine your Orange would be similar

With 2HD at 4% compared with 102.9MMM at 24% it is a good example of why SRN should be persevering with streaming. On the Internet AM is no disadvantage compared to FM - your computer don’t care

I don’t think streaming is the main reason for the ratings differential however.
Yes it does help to make your product more accessible, but needs to be of a decent standard as well.

Also, 2HD can also be heard on FM throughout most of its coverage area, so isn’t really at a huge disadvantage there. Even west of Maitland you can still hear 97.5, and possibly 90.5 as well.

Yes, 97.5 is better up Maitland way.. you can still hear 90.5 there too, but it’s not great reception.
If only they could fix the awful sound quality on FM. It’s not Temora bad, just very flat and muddy.

Nice, how much local content do they have on DU these days?
Still waiting on Cruze FM and 2RE…with my luck they’ll be the last to stream, if they do at all!
