Super Radio Network

Agree, probably a bit like selling your house, you probably have a feel for what it’s worth but probably want an informed independent valuation.

As there would be multiple ways to sell the beast, there would be multiple values, thats going to be a pricey evaluation, cant wait to hear lots of KPMG commercials and positive calls on SRN ,akin to washing up after a succulent chinese meal

Accounting standards for private companies is a bit different to public companies, especially if you don’t have investors or loans in the mix. The book value of an asset like a license doesn’t matter a whole heap - and we know the bottom is falling out of the AM license valuations, so if it’s been even a few years since their last refresh, those numbers will have no bearing on today’s reality.

Not how it works.

For what it’s worth…. There have been alot of good people pass through the hands of SRN. It’s a unique animal and needs to be treated delicately. The unfortunate instabilty at the top (namely between the kids) isn’t doing it any good. From what I know and saw with my own eyes. I’d say… give Motty about a month. He will see the lack of unity at the top in all it’s glory at some point.

I’m going to put 100 bucks on the table right now and say…. the is it up for sale or not - is most of the reason the kids are at war! So while it’s all calm… Mott is right! Tomorrow = different story!

Only time will tell folks - watch this space!

The 4KZ/Kool FM streams are down again, not that they were up for very long. Looks like any move toward streaming is also on the backburner.

Trouble at mill?

Hearing that at least one relatively recent addition to the SRN team has departed, citing a change in direction…

It’s two

Wonder if some of the new arrivals are more like consultants to get the show kicked into shape, or whether it was a long term thing

Probably not a big surprise given the network appears to be up for sale.

How much would each member of MediaSpy have to contribute to buy the SRN?

Aside from the Caralis family (well, maybe not now?), no entity cares more about the SRN than us.

Sources have confirmed.

Fire sale for SRN incoming. Might pair nicely with ARN if you’re a private equity company!

who are Gavin and Mike?

Am guessing: Gavin Flanagan - Group Sales Manager, appointed Nov 25 and Mike Byrne - Network Content Director, appointed Feb 26. The third exec appointment under Rhys Holleran was Peter Schmidt - Group Technology Manager, in Feb 26.

Possibly, both terminated within 6 months probation (definitely cheaper) and assuming the underlying dispute was about RH’s strategy of significant networking and redundancies, SRN probably don’t need the centralised content and sales. IT support however still required.

All supposition, please correct me!

Hardly a surprise to be honest. If you’re a content director and haven’t been able to make any changes to content that is in dire need of change what’s the use of being around.

Tom Malone and Greg Burns haven’t been decent custodians of the metro talk radio assets, the legacy talent development of AW and GB has kept those afloat (remembering GB arv & drive have been musical chairs with them).

Perth and Brisbane have suffered the most as the more changes made by them, the more their competence has been exposed.

It almost comes across to me that the Caralis family signed up for a full “reno” and loved the vision, but didn’t appreciate the consequences and that it would mean changing all the existing until way late in the process - after the new exec team had been onboarded. And now they want to back up the truck…..
