A good start would be to monetise the Sydney DAB spectrum. SRN could lease some of the spectrum to another operator or fully utilise it, with ad revenue, similar to the other networks.

There not being a FM network feed station on DAB in Sydney is such a missed opportunity to me.
The 80s to Now format is fairly decent, and will be better than the automated stations.

Nothing on their Facebook… had a listen from the Bribie Web radio but cant hear anything
but thats hardly surprising last I heard they are on flea power due to antenna problems

it isnt opinion when the suggestion is that ex-CEO is responsible for a companies downfall for an action they didn’t commit and by making such a statement could damage their repution .. that is called defamation and it usually followed by the person losing all their assets.

The biggest problem with this network is the callers. They are highly limited and repetitive, the curtains have been drawn on many local stations.(minutiae) Waiting for the mess to be cleared so it can be useful again. But hire as much top brass as you like, the dog whistleing rage baiting isn’t free speech or connecting anymore.
Sensible moderation is important. Any topic any time led to constant complaining and conspiracy theories. Hard ship to turn around.

It’s interesting because most of the programming into 2SM is from 2HD these days. There’s also a lot more 2HD and the super radio network being said these days.
I kind of wish they would let go of 2SM to someone who could turn it into a decent Sydney based station.

Broadcast technician, radio technician, telco technician - all stuffed trades. I always love employers that want you to have all these technology skills but not know the correct wages for the work you do.
I did 30 years but only know of a couple of people under the age of 60 - anyone retired is not going to be driving around unloved broadcast sites for radio(or TV) wages.

The challenge for SRN is that Bill was at the nucleus of basically everything across the business - while it has resulted in a level of success, it’s not particularly sustainable and not something that you can expect to replace with a single role.
There is a bit of a theme forming that the network needs investment - I don’t see appointing a CEO with extensive radio experience as being anything but that. Is he the right person? Time will tell, but it potentially says a lot about the potential of the network that you’d be able to attract someone of his experience.

There is a HUGE difference between “not being nice” as you put it and saying somebody causes millions if not 10’s of millions of dollars damage to company when Rhys did not and proved by a statement from the board which you still state was “weakenly” proven
saying somebody uses power words and spin is not damaging.. It could even be taken as a compliment
Your statement is absolutely defamination and could easily be proved in court, the other is person opinion and non damaging
