Fifi, Fev and Nick’s Instagram has posted a short clip of Fifi reading the weather, after Sam Mac, at around 7.40am. It was simulcast on TV and radio.
Great how they’ve captured the feel of Melbourne by essentially recreating their Sydney set.

Exactly what I was going to say. They could at least leave the skyline behind them. The bits I saw they were just using those clouds.
The lighting is a bit dark. I am surprised they have a couch though.

Every nine 9 news studio in the country is exactly the same as well so don’t see any issue. They just need a riser with the desk that’s only critique

The issue is Sunrise trying to promote this idea of having a home in Melbourne, which it doesn’t make any difference. What’s the point?

The promo for the Melbourne trip wasn’t shown in Brisbane - not sure about other markets. QLD got a different promo. Seems like an obvious push to improve the Melboune audience without detracting from others..

Yep agreed, if youre tuning in just for your usual 15 minutes or so of news in the morning, then it’ll look the same. That’s a good thing.
If you stick around longer you’ll see the hosts outside, as they were today. You’ll see Katie on the roof. Sam running around Melbourne.
Makes sense to me.

And if Melbourne viewers only tune in for 15 mins, thinking they were in Melbourne but it just looks like every other day?? It surely doesn’t give the same sentiment as an OB. If you’re going to make a point about being in Melbourne, you might as well be visibly in Melbourne.

I guess it didn’t matter back in the day when they used to do it in the studio.
There’s actually a sky garden for the building in Melbourne so if I was them I would be looking into some entertainment in that space…
