Quite strange, similar to Sarah in Brisbane. Not saying that either don’t deserve the role but no prior presenting is just odd.
Yeah both are rising stars, but whether they are ready for such a prominent position is to be seen
I imagine they’ll take it in turns, like Matt and Michael did this year.
Nat and Shirvo disappeared from the set to come back at the Sunrise cricket ground complete with a Richie Benaud-like into.
Nat and Shirvo are now on holidays.
Shouldn’t it be welcome back to the broader Sunrise team given he was Melbourne correspondent before he’s stint in the US?
I think it’ll take him some time to get comfortable in the role. He seems a bit tense and uneasy right now.
Full names were used in the intro this morning.
But following the welcome, we were told that from now on David would be referred to as “Woi”. It’s very jarring and I don’t think they have ever called him that before. I think only Mon used to shorten it to ‘Dave’. I suppose it will take a while to get used to.
I’ve heard the Sunrise team refer to him as Woi or Woiwood many times.
He’s fresh and looks settled. Certainly across the news and can conduct interviews easily.
Not bad for someone who has never presented a news bulletin before? We also need to remember he’s only in his early 30s from my understanding.
He’s very tall. If they’re going to present segments standing, they might need a box for Monique to stand on.
Sorry if I missed something… any reason why Sunrise is going past 10.00am this morning?
Network cricket commitments, telecast begins 10:30am live edt. Seven AFAIK have always done this, same with the tennis, etc over the years, with the rest of the morning/daytime line-up pre empted.
So Qld is about to get cut off at 9.30 local time… great… you’d think they could at least let the remainder of the show air on 7+ or 7Two
So a pass for David Woiwood’s first day in the hosting duties?
Also, am not a fan in general for nicknames, especially for a “news program”, even though Weekend Sunrise is sometimes less formal.
Not sure why Sunrise can’t move to 7Two for those living outside of NSW and Victoria, when sporting commitments come through.
The whole show is uploaded to 7+, so if anyone really is desparate for their hour-delayed puff pieces that fill the end of the show, they can find it there.
