You’d be forgiven if you thought Sunrise was produced in another city aka Melbourne or Brisbane.
I also don’t understand why the background and desk images are the same. Loses its effect.
Because that’s ‘Japan’, seemingly the only thing they think their audience knows about here clearly.
Just mix up the graphic a bit
That new desk looks very… Today show.
They should have added the cash cow to the desk! Anymore people… during COVID
Cause covid isn’t happening to those in the higher up $$ places of Sydney.
Hideous.
This makes me cringe. You’re not exempt just because you’re a broadcaster.
Actually. Fine them. This is not OK. It’s not like they don’t have a studio big enough to endorse distancing. All the wrong messaging.
Who is to say they are not subjecting everyone to daily testing? And with Sydney in lockdown the talent is going from home to studio without any other interactions?
I’m not sure what protocols seven have implemented but I am sure they have implemented something to protect their on air talent during the most important 2 weeks of their year.
Regardless of testing. They should be social distancing, it’s unacceptable
Surely they are breaking protocols…??
The ABC have sent half their programming and production interstate, how is Seven getting away with this?
This is 7. Happy to be proven wrong, but I’d say it’s very unlikely.
And above all, this doesn’t send a good message to Sydney - regardless if they’ve been tested etc.
Good luck if someone tests positive.
I guess HSV would need to pick up the pieces.
It’s not 2020 anymore.
A year ago social distancing was expected on screen. But it’s 2021, availability of rapid testing has changed things now.
Plus I assume in studio talent signed on for the Olympics are likely working and living in a bubble for the duration of their contract.
If they aren’t, happy to criticise them. If nothing else it’s a bit reckless - last thing you’d want is your breakfast show and afternoon Olympics presenters forced in to isolation during the Olympics.
This is 2021, rapid testing isn’t really a thing in Australia. And it’s not even that, it’s the optics
It may very well be a thing at 7 though, implemented for their Olympic coverage.
Do you really think they said, ‘yeah let’s get 4 guests around the desk with our two main hosts every day… and let’s not implement any covid-safe procedures’.
I doubt it.
I 100% agree with you. The attitude by 7 is incredibly arrogant. I can see Pell saying they can disregard the rules “they are broadcasting”. Even if they can technically do it, it’s wrong and doesn’t make it right to do on air. It’s irresponsible they didn’t need them all there.
This is the issue in Sydney. Sure they may all get the steed daily, but all it takes is for one person to contact COVID and then go in and then the whole building is jeopardized. The idea of lockdowns is to limit movements. It’s the same argument with Sam Mac traveling around Sydney doing weather.
Limit your movement…. But no… “we are broadcasters”
Regardless of testing or whatever it just doesn’t seem right for Seven to have so many guests on their show. If they have to have them fine but space everyone out on stools or something to be a good role model of social distancing.
