The way in which they use this set, is like when you buy an 86year old a smart phone
The RHS of the set is the big let down.
Didn’t mind it at first cause it was new but the depth and emptiness is so weird. And that weird hard angle cause by the giant book case in the lounge area.
They never really use the cornered area in the RHS much, the screen next to it is disproportionately large! No nice elements to work it in.
Obviously due to being the equivalent of nines WWOS set for network stuff but it needs to be redone. Can be generic without being ~crapola~
I was thinking it may work better if they flipped the screens around - but the big standing wall along the back and have the angled wraparound screen on the edge of the set.
Imagine if a creative director from NBC News saw this shot
They would instantly know how to fix it for $20k in 10 different ways
Openers seem to be getting longer. I counted 8 headlines at 6am, but I’m sure there was even more at 5:30. It seemed to go on forever…
Extended Sunrise until 10am on Australia Day public holiday Friday 26 January.
Funny that. I thought WS’s openers were more succinct or faster paced recently, which is obviously better.
TODAY’s openers were for 2 mins at one point!
And in Brisbane - here’s what’s coming up next including “live to Beretts” :
Except that none of that was shown as the extended portion of Sunrise was missed. So after the break was a pre-recorded goodbye.
It should have been live into Brisbane
As should Today - who also have an extended program during the tennis.
Taking notes from Nine (or some sensationalist textbook), how great.
(this took like three minutes to make, sorry if it’s shit)
20-21/1/2024 Amber Laidler is presenting the news this weekend.
It’s odd that they only flew Teegan Dolling up for one week, when they have to bring in Amber and Angie Asimus was doing double shifts with the news.
Mon and Matt hosting.
Matt must be going to do 10 days straight. I presume Shirvo will be back on Monday.
I wish they’d stop focussing on the size of the space and better setup zones within the space. It always looks so empty and clinical.
Matt Doran has really been shining recently. His chemistry with Nat and especially Mon is so good. He brings so much fun and energy to the role. Always enjoy Matt.
