I know too well the impact of having to deal with elderly parents and their health problems. Luckily I have a healthy relationship with my siblings who share the burden but it still places a strain on your ability to get on with other parts of your life.

Maybe. I could never see them taking Mon off weekends for a prolonged period though. If that were the intention, they probably would have used that person to fill-in for her a couple of weeks ago. Instead, it was just Eddy.

Not sure if Sunrise are tweaking the format, testing variations or it was a one off because of breaking Olympic news but this morning’s 6am local news in Queensland went for just 2 minutes with a simple read through of top stories and brief weather. Previously this would have been 8 minutes with at least 1 live report.

Simon was the main fill-in for Nat until Pell took over and then it changed to Samantha. I always thought he was really good on news. A good host too. Simon was one of those Sunrise assets that could flex into any role.

I remember Chris Reason MANY years ago doing it after being replaced by Kochie.
John Mangos has done a stint too. It might have been on weekends though.
