When they first moved to Martin place, they didn’t have a desk, does anyone know when they introduced the desk?
Also what was the reason for launching on a Friday?

August 30, 2004 was a Monday and It’s spelled out pretty clearly in the video they are launching the morning after the Athens Olympics have finished

It was either late 2005 or early 2006 they introduced the desk as they just had the lounges throughout the majority (if not all) of 2005.

I desk was introduced for the London bombings. It remained since then.

It was after a while if I recall correctly.
The first change was where Kochie and Mel sat on stools in front of the corner glass which had a “7 sunrise” logo on it. Then a desk was moved in. That space had been the entertainment area. I think Nat and Mark still presented their news and sport from the original set though.

How times change… talking about how the brisbane northbound traffic is good due to an increase in lanes… it’s a nightmare again these days due to increased traffic and roadworks to increase the number of lanes!
