Has there not been an increasingly intense breakfast competition the last few weeks or is that being blown out of proportion?
Today on the rise…
Yes, breakfast is a lot closer; just that’s the sort of tweet that Sunrise has been using for much of the year.
In yesterday’s numbers Sunrise was ahead by less than 40,000. Today beat Sunrise in Sydney and Melbourne but Sunrise got a mini revival in Brisbane (all those promos must be paying off!) and was just a few hundred behind Today.
Sam never use to retweet those particular tweets, she only started doing this in recent weeks on her twitter.
Nothing is ever blown out of proportion on Media Spy!
I must’ve swiped over the original and Sam’s re-tweets. Don’t think I’ve noticed them for ages! Oops
Still terrible result for Sunrise.
Wasn’t Today coming third in Melbourne and Brisbane not so long ago? How quickly fortunes can change.
Never take your audience for granted.
It’s all very bizarre really. It’s hardly like it’s a secret that people in Melbourne and Brisbane folks don’t like Sydney centric shows and personalities hectoring them.
There’s likely a reason why Alan Jones was never particularly successful in either market .
Worth remembering too that a lot of the Sunrise team aren’t from Sydney.
Nat is from WA, Beretts is from Geelong in Victoria and Sam Mac, Kochie and Eddy are all from Adelaide.
Sam Armytage is really the only personality on the show hailing from Sydney.
They’re in a studio in the middle of Martin Place, no matter where the individuals originally come from, I’d suspect in the eyes of most viewers…they’re from Sydney.
Yep, but there’s only one there that is so vocal about other states atm.
And even if Sunrise/Today was Brisbane/Melbourne produced I doubt they’d receive a warm reception if unhinged rants were prevalent. In fact they’d probably be driven out of town.
Who could you be talking about
In supporting statements filed to the court and seen by the network, Reeve claims emails sent to him by Mr Stokes in July prove that he was considered an employee.
‘I’m so sorry,’ Mr Stokes said on July 3, according to the documents, before insinuating that Reeve had been made redundant.
An email sent by Seven West Media chief operations officer Bruce McWilliam read that Reeve was: ‘Part of the DNA of this place since before I can remember.’
‘You’ll leave a big hole as you’ve been part of the weekend line up for so long. Won’t be the same without you as you’re part of our DNA,’ he wrote in another email on July 16, according to the court documents.
I saw it more as Sam’s competitive nature on display - a bit of a raspberry to media reporting on the imminent demise of the show
Even then, shes from country NSW moreso than Sydney.
ABC News Breakfast is still the most popular breakfast show in Melbourne at the moment including yesterday.
It was a bit of a surprise win for Today in Sydney, though, Sunrise usually does the best there; perhaps they went too soft on the other states
Given the news that South Australia will open its border to New South Wales from midnight tonight, I’d like to think that Kochie will continue to co-host until at least next Wednesday (September 30), after which he’ll fly to Adelaide (without the need to quarantine) for Port Adelaide’s AFL qualifying final vs Geelong that is scheduled for Thursday 1 October.
Now that the borders have opened up, I dare say that Kochie will be flying back and forth between Sydney and Adelaide/Brisbane (if Port make the Grand Final and if he’s allowed to go to the GABBA without quarantining prior), as opposed to staying interstate for the duration of the finals.
Seven will want to maximise as much as possible the amount of times he appears on Sunrise.
Sydney exclusive private school education and it shows every time she opens her mouth.
