Sunday Night

Cassie Sainsbury’s Australian lawyer is seeking an urgent court junction to stop tonight’s episode from going to air. Will her boyfriend’s lawyer do the same thing to prevent Nine from showing the 60 Minutes interview with her relatives in the future?

The case has been dismissed

The boyfriend and family should be shutting up and letting the legal process play out.

I don’t understand the difference between Sunday Night and 60mins stories. Are they basically carbon copies?

They represent different points of view on the same incident. Sunday Night spoke to Cassie’s boyfriend, while 60 Minutes interviewed Cassie’s mother and sister.

Just copycats as they always are now.

Most people probably would say that Sunday Night is a parody of 60 minutes (probably because SN started like 30 years after 60), but I would say that SN and 60mins is basically the weekend/extended editions of their ‘famous’ current affair shows Today Tonight and ACA respectively :stuck_out_tongue: .

I suspect most people would know the correct definition of ‘parody’.

There’s a 30 year difference between the two shows.

I generally have to agree with that analysis!

They may not be - there is something slightly weird going on with this…

Agree
It’s like Cassie’s Boyfriend vs Her Family

Expect both programmes to start bang on 830pm tonight. Won’t be seeing The Voice going overtime tonight.

This is a big pissing match between 9 and 7.

Judging by the updates that have been airing in the past hour, the pissing match is going to extend to the 6pm bulletins… (at least in Melbourne but it’s safe to assume it’ll be the case in other states).

9 News in Brisbane started the bulletin with this, spending more than 5 minutes on the story. Seven had some coverage before the first break mainly about the court injunction but also revealing that she had turned state’s witness.

No, 60 Minutes is starting at 8.38pm according to my EPG.

Poor move.

I have been receiving notifications on my phone via the Seven News app promoting Sunday Night at 8:30… Clearly both networks trying to claim they have exclusive details…

BEN AND ME: THE DOWNFALL OF A FOOTBALL GOD

To footy fans across the country, he was a hero. An AFL god.

But while he was perfection on the field, out in the real world Ben Cousins was a total disaster. A drug addict who couldn’t – or wouldn’t – kick the habit.

This year, he finally ended up in jail.

His now estranged partner and the mother of his children, Maylea Tinecheff, lived through the horror of Ben’s ice addiction, the mayhem and the madness.

She also witnessed his desperate efforts to find salvation. And saw the private Ben away from the cameras, a devoted and loving dad.

Finally, hear her side of the story as Maylea reveals to Steve Pennells what it was really like living with the mercurial and deeply troubled legend.

Seven will have live coverage of Ben Cousins’ release from prison later in the year?

Wonder how much cash his ex got for this interview…
