It was a big night of viewing on Sunday with the reach figure of 13.5 million up 1.5 million on the previous week.

With the survey recommencing after a two week Easter hiatus, Nine secured an easy eight-point win while ABC had it best Sunday share of the survey, albeit off the back of an older demographic. Second-placed Seven had its lowest share for any day of the survey, down 5 points on its average Sunday result.

Topping the night was again Married At First Sight. The reunion episode topped 1.7 million, slightly below the level of several previous Sunday episodes this season. It was, however, enough to put the show +800k ahead of its nearest competition that was Vera on ABC with 876k.

Seven’s 1% Club also came in above 880k for a one-off Sunday episode while on a busy night I’m A Celebrity had 564k to be up 75k week-on-week.

Later, 60 Minutes had another win though with a 2024 low average audience. It was +300k ahead of the competition that included a comedy special on Seven. New FBI did slightly better for 10 that its previous repeats.

NRL was the top sport for the day up 100k week-on-week with 439k (about average for this year) while AFL made the top 20 just under 300k.

I think Vera won the timeslot as it overlapped with 60 Minutes. Vera started at 8.30pm and 60 Minutes started at 8.45pm.

  • Married at First Sight achieved a Total TV National Audience of 1.706 million - 853,000 viewers ahead of its nearest competitor.
  • Married at First Sight was a dominant timeslot winner across the country, ranking the No.1 program with People 25-54, 16-39 and Total People across Australia and in all metro capitals.
  • Married at First Sight recorded a massive BVOD audience of 364,000 - up 23.8% on the year-on-year**.**
  • 9News recorded a National Total TV Reach of 2.291 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.218 million. It was the No.1 news bulletin with Total People in Sydney (34,000 viewers ahead of its nearest competitor) & Melbourne (64,000 viewers ahead of its nearest competitor). Its national BVOD audience was 94,000 - up 129.3% year-on-year and more than double its nearest timeslot competitor.
  • Sunday Afternoon NRL Live secured a National Total TV Reach of 1.053 million and a Total TV National Audience of 439,000, easily winning its timeslot in Sydney and Brisbane. Its BVOD audience of 41,000 was up 57.7% on the same day last year.
  • 60 Minutes achieved a Total TV National Audience of 734,000 (up 2.8% on the same night last year) and a BVOD audience of 88,000 - up 183.9% year-on-year.
  • The 9Network was No. 1 on broadcast TV across the 5 City Metro with all key demos and Total People.
  • 9Now was also the comprehensive No. 1 CFTA BVOD service with all key demos and Total People securing a 59.41% share with People 16-39.

I think it was only VIC/SA/TAS for the Sunday afternoon match.

Looks like 7’s first Sunday afternoon game of the season leading into the news didn’t help their declining Melbourne news ratings

Is this the figure for both Sunday matches combined or just the 2nd match?

That would be somewhat concerning, as the game became very close in the later stages, should’ve been when the audience peaked. So a significant switch-over to Nine or off entirely. It previously used to work nicely for Seven News.

Which also shows how many tuned-in, but did not want to stay. Perhaps a lot didn’t realise it became close later, which is why when games start bad, it’s not good for broadcasters. Doesn’t always happen like this though.

Bluey episodes do not meet the minimum program length of 10 minutes for Total TV reporting so are not listed. ABC did win daytime though.

Thought we’d been missing something from the rankings… This is just ridiculous! No wonder Nine are already fed up and leaked to Daily Telegraph even getting TVT Knoxy quotes in a story over the weekend about the new VOZ.

Oh, i forgot about a show being 10 minutes in length (minimum) in order to make the ratings lists. You’ve got to feel sorry for ABC Kids, particularly for Bluey.

At least next week’s episode is 20+ minutes long.
