It rated over 4 million because there were no NSW teams in it. Storm and Broncos have the biggest national fanbases and people in NSW will watch regardless.

In Western Australia, the match reached 746,000 viewers, with a Total TV audience of 539,000 – the highest since Perth hosted the Grand Final in 2021 and up 11% year-on-year.

The 2025 AFL Grand Final, which saw the Brisbane Lions take the 2025 Premiership Cup over the Geelong Cats, also had a record audience on 7plus Sport, with 985,000 tuning in nationally for the match alone – up 51% on last year. In WA 133,000 viewers streamed the game on 7plus sport.

The media organisation pays for an OzTAM subscription? Normally Seven or the AFL would release the numbers themselves, which means they are actively trying to suppress the data this year for whatever reason. Maybe Brisbane viewership was down or Sydney lost to the Bledisloe Cup?

TBH, I don’t care about the exact figures of 5 city metro.

I haven’t even heard about whether AFL GF is the highest-rated program in any of those cities.

Which can only mean it wasn’t anywhere, otherwise we would have read about it 20 times over.

With NRL GF, we immediately knew it topped everywhere but Adelaide.
