Nine got the week of to a great start with a +9 point win over Seven to be up four from the previous week. Seven’s line up was without a reality franchise and was down six. ABC was up slightly while 10 improved by two and SBS was steady.

FTA viewers continued to be drawn to The Block with the final Sunday episode ahead of auction night averaging over 1.5 million national viewers. That was up over 100k on last Sunday to a new season high.

Seven’s 7pm offering this week was a 7News Spotlight US Presidential election special that attracted an average 603k across the country for the show’s best result in eight weeks.

ABC’s Spicks and Specks managed 348k while Fisk that followed had almost 700k, both slightly higher than last week.

Meanwhile, Dessert Masters first Sunday episode had 331k. While up on the previous week’s offering at 7pm (Dog House Australia) that was a season low for the franchise.

Later, 60 Minutes dominated with another +700k result and its first top five ranking in eight weeks. Ego: The Michael Gudinski Story delivered 300k for Seven while The Graham Norton Show improved to 217k. ABC’s Plum lost ground, down 75k to 270k this week.

Earlier the 6pm news contest saw Seven News ahead by 70k while in the morning Insiders was at 550k after Weekend Sunrise had 352k to be 120k ahead of Weekend Today.

The Pacific Championships was the top sport of the day with Women’s WBBL just making the top 30.

  • The Block soared to its highest rating episode of the series with a National Total TV Reach of 2.650 million, a Total TV National Audience of 1.527 million and a BVOD audience of 213,000. It was the No. 1 entertainment program with People 25-54, 16-39 and Total People.

  • 9News was the No.1 news bulletin on Sunday night with Total People across the 5 City Metro and in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. It achieved a National Total TV Reach of 1.988 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.118 million - up 82.1% on the same night last year. On 9Now, its BVOD audience of 86,000 was up 173% year-on-year.

  • 60 Minutes secured a National Total TV Reach of 1.695 million and a Total TV National Audience of 722,000. Its BVOD audience was 69,000 - up 228.8% on the same night last year.

  • The 9Network was the No.1 Network across the 5 City Metro on Sunday with Total People and all key demographics.

  • 9Now was the No.1 CFTA BVOD platform with Total People and all key demographics.

The Block dominated last night’s viewing with the auction just one week away.

I think there is some real interest in this election. Would expect some good daytime viewing figures on Wednesday. Held up well against big competition with Block etc.

Huge numbers for The Block.

The Spotlight US Election special did well enough too. Do live editions generally do better than the pre recorded ones?

Good to see the numbers for the arvo match of the NBL. Not great figures. But i wonder if the travel/cooking shows it replaced did much better?

Was surprised to see this airing yesterday, considering all the new lifestyle/travel shows especially HSV this year? The new ones not rating? Or did they run out of episodes? But compared to the other markets, it’s still a glaring problem.
