The 65th TV Week Logies was Sunday’s top entertainment show with 1.425 million in preliminary numbers. That helped Seven’s to win the night with a +40% share and compares to last year’s telecast that had a preliminary rating of 1.338 million while 2024’s ceremony came in just over 1.3 million.

Earlier, the Red Carpet at 7pm had almost 1.3 million compared to last year’s 1.16million. However, because of the significant overrun for the broadcast, the number is likely to be adjusted with An Evening With Dua Lipa on 558k representing part of the time the Gold Logie was presented.

Meanwhile, The Block’s first reveal episode of the season provided good competition and was ahead at 7pm with over 1.31 million as well for a season high. As MasterChef nears the end of its 17th season Sunday’s episode slipped 30k to 585k while on ABC, Austin’s second episode of the new season dropped to 450k with the increased competition. Over on SBS, Pompeii: The New Dig House of Treasures premiered to 165k.

Later, 60 Minutes did well with 649k while the third episode of Watson slipped to 168k. For ABC, the Season 2 final of Bay of Fires managed 249k. Nine also got a boost from the World Aquatics Championships while another Bond movie made the top 30.

Geelong demolished Port Adelaide in the Afternoon AFL rating 442k while Sunday afternoon NRL saw the Sharks beat the Cowboys by 20 to 455k.

Earlier, Seven News had its highest Sunday rating of the year to be 140k clear of Nine News. Meanwhile 10 News+ was unchanged from last week.

At breakfast Weekend Sunrise was down on its usual result though still an easy winner.

The Logie Awards still grab massive ratings. That’s an impressive number over 4.5 hours and great that the audience has grown year to year.

Wow, wasn’t expecting the Logies to rate that high, even thought below 1m total and Block might beat it, Seven and organisers will be thrilled. Perhaps it’s not going anywhere yet? Key demos looked really healthy too. Wonder what Nine and 10 would think about the result too.

Huge numbers for The Logies. So well done to Seven. Even the big awards after 11.15pm (coded as the Dua Lipa special) did well for that timeslot.

Seven won all markets with Melbourne posting the highest share of 46.6%, 20 points ahead of second-placed Nine.

Seven won the metro market helped by Perth that was just under 200,000, a 2025-best.

The breakfast contest was closer than usual on a weekend.

Which means that the numbers must have been quite big earlier in the telecast. This is one show I’d actually be interested in seeing an early vs late split.

Having Freo/Carlton finishing a few minutes before 6 certainly help 7 News with that huge ratings figure

I think it’s the same as above

The match was also decided in the 4th quarter with the home team behind for much of the game and only took the lead in the 4th.

Except the BVOD numbers. 25-54 and 16-39 saw a reversal of fortunes for 7 with 9 way ahead. So it’s not just the AFL…

7’s BVOD for their AFL coverage is incredibly poor, especially by their standards. However, if you watch an AFL game on 7plus, you’ll understand why it’s so poor. Delayed feed, low quality image, buffering.

I’ve never had any buffering issues on 7+
But it’s not just AFL, look at the numbers on Logies night.

7+ has always been behind 9Now. I think 7’s hoping that having cricket & afl on 7+ now would help but it’s been a soft launch. Maybe it gets better with the finals & Ashes but I doubt it
