National = metro + regionals + rest of Australia

That’s higher than the 47.3% network share Nine recorded on the corresponding night last year. Obviously helped by the Sinner-Medvedev clash going into five sets.

According to Nine - the shares prime time nationally yesterday were (Total TV incl BVOD)

So we’ll never again know how, for example, 9 Melbourne is doing in the news?

That’s right, unless Nine (etc) explicitly provide the numbers.

Its ridiculous.

Incredible share, second for the tournament, can’t recall this happening at the AO before (and last happened in a same event at the 2021 Olympics and 2018 Comm Games IIRC).

There we go, at least networks appear to still be more forthcoming and so they should, such ratings/shares should be reported/known.

Shame about not seeing Foxtel ratings,

I’m presuming the discrepancy here is the first number refers to across the Day (as they’d previously been doing), so including every viewer who tuned-in to at least 1min of the 2pm preview show, 3pm Women’s Doubles Final, Final Pre Show at 6:30pm including 9Gem in some markets, match, Presentation and Post Match until 12:50am)?

With the second number just referring to the match itsself (7:47pm to 11:30pm)?

“Total Grocery Shoppers” seems like such a useful measurement, much better than having Foxtel ratings or a 5 city breakdown

At last something has united Media Spy

Well it will now be a mystery in terms of how 9/7 News perform in the big two. We will need to rely on network press releases whenever they release.

Was also looking at seeing how some of these new Game shows perform in some cities compared to its predecessor.

and trust that the numbers are not embellished or inflated.

Well if networks start chopping and changing news presenters moving forward, would be a good indication that ratings are likely not going to plan!

Just means we won’t have the intel to speculate on who, when and where and who should replace them beforehand! Which is half the fun really.

Hopefully Nine’s media releases continue, which going by today’s on yesterday, they will and are mostly unchanged (which TVCynic has kindly provided in recent years), as unlike the other networks especially Seven, they seem to go into more detail including timeslot wins on a market split level, including news (so should be easy to deduce who won what based on that). But yes, take them with a grain of salt as we won’t see for ourselves anymore too.

All of a sudden, i like Nine’s Media Releases

I don’t mind seeing the reach etc but it would have been better if everything was ranked using the national average & if they also showed metro average too.

I guess though it’s a sign of the times… similar to website clicks and social media ticks or likes… we scroll, skim, sample these days rather than reading the full detail or looking at the whole article, piece or post.

So whats the point in this change? We know 7 News will smash 9 News everynight now. Just a bigger gap now…
