Seven aired the first episode of the third season of The 1% Club (out of order) to an average 1.053 million to be the top entertainment show of the night. It was narrowly ahead of Travel Guides that was in Spain and Portugal this week averaging 1.048 million. The 1% Club was down slightly while Travel Guides lifted by +40k. The results helped Seven to a narrow win with ABC third and 10 ahead of SBS.

The Piano’s third episode of its inaugural season slipped by +60k to below 700k for the first time while MasterChef’s Sunday night elimination improved 45k to 614k, its best Sunday result of the season.

SBS had the Eurovision Grand Final. The morning’s live broadcast did best with 284k while the prime time replay slipped to just 169k. That compares to 2024 when the morning had 209k and evening with 226k.

60 Minutes had 650k to be ahead of 7News Spotlight with 609k while Bergerac on ABC did well with 418k. On 10, a House Hunters Australia encore had 235k to outperform its original showing.

Later, The Killer Interview With Piers Morgan interviewed Danny Pelosi was just under 300k while Seven’s 24 Hours In Police Custody managed 249k.

Sunday afternoon AFL featured Brisbane v Melbourne in those markets plus West Coast v St Kilda in Perth to average 389k. The NRL saw Raiders v Titans on 446k with both results below the previous week’s.

It’s hard to tell because SBS used to split code the morning and even evening broadcast to include a Winner Announced segment. Even then the prime time tended to rate higher similar to what happened last year the first time under the new ratings.

Also remember that the morning broadcast figures are not just those that watched it live but also anyone who watched a recording they made across the day that I think a lot of people would have done.

The audience has significantly reduced in recent years. This year’s primetime result would be one of the lowest in recent history - 20 years or so. (In the past there was only the one broadcast). The total audience this year was similar to last year.

Big win to Seven News, must be one of their better results and a much needed one? Good timing given the past week’s developments. Not far off 300k difference excluding bvod.

Guessing Melbourne had a great night. New studio? AFL lead-in (despite no major local teams)? All of the above? Maybe Adelaide and/or Perth too with AFL, including another local for the latter, on an emotional news day following Adam Selwood’s passing.

A big win for Seven News helped by a rare win in Brisbane and Perth with its 2nd highest rating of the year.

Wonder why Nine didn’t claim Melbourne, going off TVCynic’s breakdown table?

Pretty neck-to-neck with Seven’s 1% Club and Nine’s Travel Guides. While MasterChef is still doing just okay numbers (against tough competition).

Eurovision got some good numbers for the Live Morning edition (little difference to Weekend Sunrise & Today). Nice follow on to the Cycling Highlights at 9am - with perhaps some overrun?

For the repeat in primetime, it is low - and perhaps one of the lowest in recent history. As mentioned by others - it could be for a number of reasons. People are actually watching the live edition - when years ago, it didn’t even air (prior to Australia competing). Also, just about everyone gets the results throughout the day from social media and news sites. And most songs are on Spotify.

As you mentioned, people got it out of the way and watched it earlier, combined it was the same as last year.
