Nine had another easy Sunday win with network shares not much different to the previous week.

The Married At First Sight juggernaut rolled along with another commitment ceremony averaging over 1.8 million viewer including 500k on 9Now. That was down 100k from the previous week for the second highest episode of the season. The rating was higher than the combined rating of its commercial rivals.

Australian Idol slipped 40k from the previous week to its lowest Sunday episode of the season but still up 35k on last year’s equivalent episode.

On 10, the season final of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here had 651k, its highest rating since the launch episode. That compared to last year’s final episode that was in April and averaged 749k.

Muster Dogs took a tumble, down 60k to a season low with Mysteries of Sink Holes on SBS making the top 30.

60 Minutes topped one million for the first time this year to demolish the post reality show competition where Matlock saw the next highest rating of 350k – up from the last episode that had 304k on a Monday. The Newsreader dipped by 15k to 347k while Seven’s An Evening With Dua Lipa managed just 311k.

All were also beaten by 9News Late with an impressive 642k,one of its highest results.

Seven News had a narrow 6pm win while Weekend Sunrise was 100k ahead of Weekend Today.

60 Minutes’ audience was almost equal to the combined figures of Matlock, The Newsreader and Dua Lipa special.

  • Married at First Sight achieved a BVOD audience of 517,000 (up 43.2% year-on-year), the highest ever overnight BVOD audience in the series history and the highest rating non-sporting overnight BVOD audience across CFTA in VOZ history.

  • Married at First Sight was the No. 1 program of the night with Total People and all key demographics across Australia and in all metro capitals. It registered a National Total TV Reach of 2.979 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.808 million - up 13.6% year-on-year.

  • 9News Sunday was the news bulletin of choice with Total People and all key demos across the 5 City Metro. It was also the preferred news bulletin of the night with People 25-54 and People 16-39 across Australia and in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. It secured a National Total TV Reach of 2.077 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.166 million. On 9Now, its BVOD audience of 102,000 was up 36% year-on-year.

  • 60 Minutes dominated its timeslot with Total People across the 5 City Metro and in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. It recorded a National Total TV Reach of 2.228 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.051 million - up 25.7% year-on-year. On 9Now, it recorded its highest ever rating BVOD Audience of 134,000 - up 52.3% on the same night last year.

  • Weekend Today was the breakfast program of choice with Total People in Melbourne and Brisbane. It registered a Total TV National Audience of 278,000 (up 18.3% year-on-year) and a BVOD audience of 29,000 - up 26.1% on the same morning last year.

  • The 9Network was the No. 1 network on Sunday across the 5 City Metro with all key demos and Total People.

  • 9Now was the No.1 CFTA BVOD platform on Sunday across Australia recording shares in excess of 54% with all key demos and Total People.

A big wow to Nine - those numbers for Married at First Sight is impressive. As to 60 Minutes that followed - and even Nine’s late News.

Seven’s Australian Idol is still doing well against the competition of Nine. While the Final of I’m A Celebrity may have gotten bigger numbers since the Launch, it’s not the greatest numbers out there.

The numbers for ABC’s The Newsreader seems to be on the lower end than usual (i think). Should the ABC have waited a little to air all episodes onto iView?
