Australia’s 2-0 victory over Türkiye in their Group D match of the FIFA World Cup topped Sunday viewing for SBS averaging an amazing 3.035m. The Pre-game coverage had 1.07m and the post game 1.545m. The result sees the game rank third in the list of top 2026 programs so far.

Earlier games coverage that made the top 30 included Scotland defeat of Haiti with 782k, Brazil and Morocco draw that had 915k

Later, in primetime a 7.30pm repeat of the Socceroos victory averaged just 85k.

That compares to episode 3 of Farmer Wants A Wife that had 916k for its first Sunday episode of the season. That was ahead of MasterChef where it was the start of Sweet Week where 712k tuned in, up on last week’s 589k.

Nine had the delayed fourth episode of Shark! that had 523k in four markets, down from last Sunday to a new season low.

On ABC, the second episode of Race Around The World averaged 512k, up on the premiere episode’s 416k. Ground Up that followed saw its second episode miss the top 30.

Later, 60 Minutes had 575k and 7NEWS Spotlight 539k while Watson’s second season premiere on 10 had 236k.

The afternoon AFL included St Kilda’s win over GWS in several markets and Brisbane’s win over Richmond shown in Queensland was impacted by the Wold Cup coverage and had just 331k.

NRL Sunday Footy saw the Tigers come from behind to beat the Titans in a close game that started after the World Cup finished and had 569k.

Seven News with 1.514m was 90k ahead of Nine News at 6pm. At breakfast, Weekend Sunrise topped 400k with Weekend Today on 251k and Weekend Breakfast 157k, seemingly little impacted by the sport on SBS.
