Racing Victoria will release a draft schedule for the Spring Racing Carnival in the next week. In the proposed draft, we’ll see the Caulfield Cup move from October 17 to November 28 to avoid a clash with the AFL Finals series with the Caulfield Guineas running a week earlier. Cox Plate, Darby Day and Melbourne Cup will remain on their respective dates.

Sunrise mentioned the morning, the move with the Caulfield Cup is due to the Melbourne Racing Club wanting to have as many spectators attend as possible. Who knows if spectators will be even allowed to attend due to the restrictions.

There will be no change to Melbourne’s Spring Racing Carnival this year. Thus the Caulfield Cup will still be held on October 17 this year, followed by the Cox Plate on October 24. The Melbourne Cup remains on the first Tuesday in November.

What is pathetic and disgusting?

Horse Racing still going ahead / Melbourne Cup Carnival. How are you going to police social distancing when you have bone heads who get wasted at this animal cruelty of sport?

Who knows if crowds will even be allowed in October/November. If they’re allowed, I’m guessing it’ll be corporate dinning, owners/trainers and members only, no general public allowed. It’ll probably be capped too depending on Government regulations.

Please don’t get me started on so called animal cruelty in this sport. These horses get treated a lot better than what everyone thinks they do.

Horse racing has been going on still through this whole pandemic. They aren’t suggesting crowds will be allowed in. But by all accounts crowds will begin to be allowed to happen with the NRL having some crowds from next week.

And yeah I think most agree horse racing is an outdated ‘sport’ with way too many incidents of animal cruelty, but the government won’t do anything about it as it brings in so much revenue for them.

Animal cruelty lol. Horse riding isn’t animal cruelty.

With any luck you won’t need to practice social distancing by November.

There has definitely been a lot of cases of animal cruelty in the horse racing industry. And only last year in the race that stops the nation one rider was fined for wiping a horse too often. So it definitely still occurs.

2019-20 Coppa Italia final
Thursday 18 June
LIVE from 4:30am (AEST) on SBS, The World Game website / app, SBS On Demand

The showpiece fixture of Italian Cup football will feature two of Juventus, AC Milan, Napoli and Inter Milan, after the coronavirus pandemic interrupted the tournament during its semi-final stage in February.

As it stands, Inter trail Napoli 1-0 ahead of this weekend’s second legs, while Juventus remain locked at 1-1 with Milan.

Winners of each tie will contest the final inside Rome’s Stadio Olimpico, where the victor will automatically qualify for the 2020-21 UEFA Europa League group stage, as well as the Supercoppa Italiana.

Napoli and Juventus won their respective ties and will compete in the final.

ANZ and Colombia the only countries now in contention.

Napoli won the cup 4-2 in penalties after a scoreless 90 minutes.
