I know in the past, after the NRL Grand Final has wrapped, GTV would drop out of the coverage almost immediately after the final siren, meaning viewers would miss the post-match presentation, the lap of honour and the match review among other things. Not sure if this also occurred for Origin coverage though I do know it was sometimes delayed until after 10:30pm in the early noughties (or earlier than that, even).
Notably, this caused massive outrage in 2009 after the Storm won the premiership (which, 200 days later, was stripped from them along with many other team achievements due to salary cap breaches); they went straight to the news instead of showing the post-match formalities.
Not sure when things changed to include the post-match segment but I know for sure it was no later than 2019 because I watched that year’s decider while on holidays in Melbourne.
