The name Seven is synonymous with viewers and the public. The red 7 would be easily identifiable to almost any Australian. Southern Cross Media as a company would not be indentiable by most Australians. Going with the well known brand has to be the way to go.
If NZ would just accept our offer and become a state it would solve this issue.

Yep.
Itās interesting that what was largely attempted to be sold as a merger of equals, itās very quickly become the Seven show
Fixed. ![]()
Very rarely do mergers/acquisitions unfold the way they are āsoldā to staff and consumers. Each part usually has an outsized view of their importance in the partnership. Sometimes you can meet close to the middle but usually it seems one chews up another.
Sold as a merger of equals, which became the SCA show, which has now become the Seven showā¦
Where to next on this rollercoaster ride? ![]()
Southern Cross Media Group is a mouthful but I am OK with the name.
Just drop Group from the title.
Seven Media.
Rolls off the tongue nicer. ![]()
I like SWM.
Or (if it didnāt sound like SES), SCS - Southern Cross Seven.
A shame theyāll probably kill off the clever Austereo name.
I wonder if LiSTNR will get a mention? Mind you, if they were to go with 7LiSTNR it opens them up to jokes⦠having 7 listeners total ![]()
What about Samoa?
Southern Cross is the perfect corporate name - completely meaningless to any of the entities it retains.
I guess will all find next week when all will be revealed.
