Alo Baker on the regional Triple M network’s workday shift today.
Wasn’t he with ARN & Hot Tomato? Has he left?
He must, unless it’s a different Alo Baker lol.
He was in the farewell video for Nelly so he must be back at SCA.
Abbey Fridge from Edge FM in Vic is going to be the new morning announcer on Hit Fraser Coast.

Triple M Toowoomba, Queensland’s first commercial radio station, celebrates 100 years
It was a heck of a party last night, Thursday August 14 2025, as Queensland’s first commercial radio station Triple M Toowoomba (formerly 4GR 864AM) celebrated its 100th birthday in style with hundreds of guests, past and present staff, and community leaders at The Powerhouse.
Now with Andy Sichter finally retiring, it will be interesting to see what they do with the regional MMM log, and whether they’ll actually start playing music released after 2019.
It’s a running joke in some MMM markets just how ridiculous they sound when the promos say (with that kiddie VO) “and we play only the best new songs”
What bloody new songs??? Timbaland “Apologise” is not a new song.
When I picked up Triple M Gippsland via tropo in 2023 and 2024 IIRC they did play Ed Sheeran’s Bad Habits and Shivers, both released in 2021. That could’ve likely been it though.
How can they not find any suitable new music to play? Even Breeze plays new music that suits their format.
One that immediately springs to mind is Bad Dreams / Teddy Swims, which gets played on Breeze all the time. The song would be perfect for regional Triple M.
It’s something that used to piss many of us off. I know it still is a source of frustration to many.
Smooth used to do those Smooth discoveries or whatever they called them, new songs that fit the format but weren’t big hits. They were quite good.
Just not the same 30 songs on repeat would be nice.
It kind of gives me hope that the Regional MMMs could go into the Jack FM format like Triple M Sydney is now and 20 years ago during the “Barry the Monkey” phase, still remember
During the Covid period of 2020-22, the Triple M Regionals went into a classic/mainstream rock format like its metro counterparts, only for the ratings to tank.
Music log on regional MMM was good today.
They seem to have dropped double shot Tuesday and instead just did a double shot at the top of hour.
TRIPLE M CENTRAL QUEENSLAND’S PINKY & MACCA ARE LIGHTING UP BREAKFAST

Triple M Central Queensland is waking up to a brand-new Breakfast show with Pinky & Macca on-air across the region.
A new addition to the show, Matthew “Macca” McDonald brings high energy, a “medically diagnosed” enthusiasm, and an infectious optimism to Triple M listeners across Central Queensland, a station spanning from Rockhampton to Mount Murchison to Gladstone.
Macca began in community radio in Port Stephens before moving to SCA’s Hit Network Fraser Coast in 2023, he quickly made his mark as a vibrant on-air personality. Now, Macca’s ready to deliver the perfect mix of local content, sport, comedy, and greatest hits to Triple M’s loyal audience.
Macca’s joined by Pinky Neven, celebrating a decade on Triple M Breakfast this year. A much-loved voice in Central Queensland, Pinky has built a reputation for being community-minded, supporting local charities and schools, as well as fronting regional events. Her strong local connection and authenticity make her one of the region’s most trusted broadcasters. The duo’s new show, which launched 11 August, has begun with undeniable energy across Central Queensland’s airwaves.
McDonald said:”It’s been a great first couple of weeks getting to know the loyal Triple M listeners and working alongside the absolute legend of a human that is Pinky. I was never built for a ‘real job’ and have always dreamt of one day being on ‘the Ms’, so it’s a dream come true to officially join the club.”
Blair Woodcock,SCA Head of Regional Content, said: “Macca is a great example of the talent pathway we’re fostering within SCA, moving from Hit on the Fraser Coast to now joining one of our most respected local voices in Pinky. Pinky has spent a decade at the heart of the Central Queensland community. With Macca’s enthusiasm alongside her, Pinky & Macca will bring the perfect mix of experience, energy, and local knowledge to Triple M listeners.”
Listen to Pinky & Macca for Breakfast on Triple M Central Queensland, 6-9am weekdays, or on LiSTNR.
Every time I see the combined Central Queensland stations (Rockhampton & Gladstone), it makes me mad they didn’t do the same in Wide Bay (Bundaberg & Maryborough). The markets are kind of identical, and have always had a combined TV market. In Wide Bay’s case the TV channels broadcast from a single site, not sure about Central Queensland. But anyway, Wide Bay should also have a combined Triple M/Hit combo and still have 4BU and 4MB (similar to 4RO & 4CC).
Although I guess on the bright side it’s probably led to having a Breeze & Rebel combo broadcasting from the single TV mountain location and both covering the Wide Bay. That wouldn’t have happened if it had gone down the single radio market path.
The same could be said with Gympie and the Sunshine Coast. I don’t understand why Gympie only has 1 commercial FM station and 1 commercial AM station that only cater for the over 50. For the size of Gympie, I really feel sorry for the under 50 that live in Gympie. I just turned 50 and even I find the music on Zinc too old for myself.
SCA would probably have to own 93.3 for that to work the same as CQ. In Wide Bay Triple M would be 93.1 and 103.5 and hit would be 101.9 and 93.9.
I also recall Triple M Regionals playing “My Universe” by Coldplay featuring BTS last year which was also released in 2021 but an edited version which doesn’t feature the vocals from the South Korean septet.
Yeah Gympie is a shitshow. SRN need to convert 4GY asap and run their regional hit FM log on it.
Actually, they should flip the format even on AM, seems like a no brainer given the Zinc FM format
