Noticed Rohin S is also doing weekends on Bay. He use to do fill ins on regional MMM up to recently.
Is Triple M Central Coast local on workdays anymore? Or just 6-9am?
Hasn’t been since Mickey D started on network mornings earlier this year.
Yeah, Mickey D was on 107.7 when I was in the car last.
Not sure what’s up with 90.5 Triple M Limestone Coast atm, for the last few hours it’s just been non stop automated music, no news, announcers or commercial breaks.
Update: As of 4.00pm normal programming has resumed.
Might have been on back-up audio
Could have been, it was just one song after another song non stop, not even any “triple M” station sweepers between each song.
Probably a whole of SCA network observation here, but @Radio_TVGuy raised the issue of networked content being out of sync between stations at night time in another thread a couple of days ago.
Well it seems that this starts at 3pm when Carrie & Tommy (Hit) and Marty Sheargold (MMM) shows to go air… As I’ve found this afternoon Hit106.9 Newcastle was a few seconds ahead on C&T, then Hit101.3 Gosford next, and 2Day a few seconds further behind… The gaps were wider over on Triple M with Marty Sheargold, but in the same order with 102.9 Newcastle about 10 seconds ahead of 107.7 Gosford and Sydney another 10 seconds further back.
I can imagine however that the order / timings will vary from day to day depending on what happens with the local shifts.
Regionals and metros are played out separately because of the different music logs. I believe Newcastle may also play out locally? @MarkHD would probably know better.
Rush Hour at 4 would give you a better indication
Probably going to be out of sync too given Nights are…
Yep locally.
Fire at SCA Bunbury headquarters, 1 Spencer Street.
Triple M 963am and hit95.7 on backup tapes, 850mhz STLs off air.
hit95.7 Bunbury has lost its RDS as a result of the fire. Enough for this to seem like a pirate station now when you think about it LOL! (even though it’s not)
(As per the Bunbury TEF Webserver)
UPDATE: The hit95.7 Bunbury broadcast has returned to normal, now broadcasting the syndicated Mike E & Emma program just like the rest of Regional WA, and the regional ID has also returned, although its RDS has not yet returned.
And now, the sound volume on hit95.7 Bunbury is down by 20-25%, whereas all other Hit WA stations are at normal full volume as usual. This was like this during the backup tapes they had playing, and it’s still like this now, even as normal transmissions resumed.
I was able to confirm this because of some tropo tonight causing the hit102.3 Lancelin repeater to come in on the Bunbury tuner, and compared it to the local hit95.7 Bunbury service, and there’s a noticeable difference. Thank the fire for the noticeable volume reduction.
It was a rush to get back on air late last night. Will be looked at in more detail as we get time
I wonder if this means that the normal programming is coming in via a backup source (eg IP link from another studio) rather than the usual STL from the Bunbury studios.
Allan & Carly are on air from Bunbury as normal this morning, they opened the show by talking about the Bunbury building fire at 1 Spencer Street. I’ll attach a clip of it soon. Broadcasting as normal on hit95.7 Bunbury and on LiSTNR.
No surprise given the show comes out of Perth.
